That's what iv used in the past. Had the same lip on my s13. Heat gun worked well. Start in the center & heat/pull as you work outward.

you could but it still wont fit 100% on the sides. Going to buy another lip and actually cut and extend both sides to get the fitment on point

I cut in the center of of the lip and used excess plastic from fitting the lip that I cut and shaped, and from what I can remember the total width added was 13/16". From there I used my plastic welder to make the three pieces into one and finished off with a flexible polymer filler.
