(broken car doesn't deserve anything better than blackberry pictures.)
Since the single is on order, decided it was time to haul the car back to my spaceship workspace and get going. Tow courtesy of Hoodz N Chromez, featuring Big deez. Respec'! After getting the car to the shop it was time for business. I got right to pulling the motor. I had enough of ninja'ing around in the engine bay and the rear twin was pretty much touching the booster. I wanna paint it again so baaaaaad, no time for games though. hi friend! Another update when turbo stuff gets here, I suppose. |

I love this car! Nice quality craftmanship!
Is it just me or does this car look so much like the last RWD Impala SS? haha

I love this build. Just curious, what size turbo from driftmotion did you get? Did you get their complete turbo kit and what will you be using for tuning? I plan on going single over the winter and I wanted to get one of their kits and the 1jz aem v2 they sell.

I purchased the 57trim full kit, for those unfamiliar:
-57trim turbo. -Twin scroll, divided t3. -.70AR 0trim exhaust wheel. -polished comp housing ceramic coated exhaust housing. -4" intake 3" exhaust. I am excited to see how fast it spools. My goals are 100% aimed a having amazing response for street car power where I want it and torque down low for le drift. Even having a ball bearing 2871 on my old sr felt sluggish in the lower range and I'm aiming away from that. The kit is too much of an awesome deal as I just dont have time to piece together a whole setup right now, being in school and in the MIDDLE of driving season. Turbo goes? I plop on a divided housing precision. I am excited to see how this whole kit holds up! As for tuning, I will be running the stock ecu until I get that same EMS kit for Soarer 1jz in the winter. In the time being I will add an AFC Neo and I am going to slowly add boost to the motor watching my AFRs. In the future I plan on changing over to a ball bearing precision turbo/wastegate and making a schedule 10 manifold, slowly replacing this whole setup with more satifying parts. For now I just needed to get the car going and this was the best route without shelling out 5k and 2 months to get the car on the road again while im in school. Ive got some mild fabrication stuff up my sleeve to keep things looking on point. Excuse the ugly mkiii engine bay. TURBO ARRIVES THURSDAY. Thanks for reading. |

Nice, can't wait to see this on the car. Im sure you could still make like 400hp and have good response with this kit

As you can see from Santi's post of trnka's picture.
The kit has arrived. ALMOST got screwed over because the shipper (driftmotion) told UPS the wrong address which was accross the street from me. I called an hour before it was delivered and fixed the address problem... or so I thought. The lady was too stupid to let the driver know the proper address so finally I got through to a local dispatch person and they let the driver know 10mins after his first miss-delivery and thankfully he was able to pull a u-turn and bring it to the right address. ANNOYED BY TWO COMPANIES. Started off with a VERY large box. Broken down into a few small boxes which started christmas. sideways cell phone pictures LOL, maybe dslr next time. party table. Thought I might as well head over to the tuning facility and get going. Threw some oil fittings at the block, as well as the turbo, assembled the -10 drain. Figured I had to dump the motor in to build the down pipe and change the wastegate location. So in the motor plopped. I've got to say, the ceramic coating/polishing/cast 90/v-band/manifold supports were all nicely done. Did some power steering magic in a friend of mines s13 and acquired two open diffs for ZZZ nuclear power/1000000 wire speed welding and 4.3 install doom. One diff for s14 daily. One diff for Cefiro . Need drifting again. |
