Did you have issues with the 2nd gen or whats the reason to send this back. I actually gave this one to a friend to use, so I'm still waiting on the second one I ordered to arrive.

Did anyone else have to notch their bellhousing for the starter to clear using maverick adapter ka24de to cd009?

Just like most of the post here I had an extremely horrible experience with CBF. I would suggest everyone waiting for a shifter file a claim with PayPal if not to late. I was lucky enough to start a claim before the deadline and only then did he start to communicate with me. I recieved my shifter and it looked nothing like the ones pictured here and or his site. When installing there was nothing but issues. I felt like the thru together a kit of leftover parts and sent it to me so that the PayPal claim would be closed. It did not fit my 06 cd009 trans and when installed the shifter was positioned so far up against the reverse lockout that I could not get into 5th or 6th without pushing the shifter down and could not get it into reverse at all. Once I confronted him with pics he somewhat admitted there was an issue and allowd me to return the shifter. The returns and refund process took several month and at the same time I purchased a serial 9 shifter. I have since recieved that one and had absolutely no issues with install and clearance. I can now get into all gears and the shifter sits in the correct location with no modifications. Looking back it is was a learning experience and hope he also learns from it and gets better communication skills. All it takes is an quick email response from that doesn't beat around the bush or even a little disclaimer on his site saying the average wait time for a shifter is 7 months...

LOVE this thread! Can anyone confirm or deny fitment of the Shaftmasters off the shelf driveshaft with a mazworx bellhousing? Referring to this http://shaftmasters.com/nsn240sxs14-...419951998.html

(S13 2jz w/fk40c suprastore r154 bellhousing adapter)
Last week had some troubles getting the car into 1st or rev from a stop, tried messing with the clutch adjustment with no success. So i pulled my trans back out this week, the pilot bushing was worn down almost paper thin. Im using the Collins crank adapter for the pilot and think when I hammered it in it wasn't perfectly straight causing the bushing to fail prematurely (after 1500k miles). Got another adapter on the way, gonna try sticking it the freezer over night and see if I don't have to beat the piss out of it to get it in this time. ... FML

ALL,
I believe serial nine is in the final stages of their CD009 bellhousing/swap kit (they said to email for details and pricing). Im not super up to date on all of the swap/bell housing options. but their bellhousing and shifter option appears to be one of the nicest (if not, the nicest) out there; just like all their other products. I expect the price to reflect that. I am not affiliated with them, but I just thought I would let ya'll know. im super surprised that there is no mention of their bellhousing in this thread. |

All,
So with all this great information being shared (thanks to everyone who has contributed) from both good and bad experiences, can we agree on the 'best' known setup? It seems that would the ultimate achievement of this post and potentially could be updated on the first page.. and of course updated as new products are available. This should be an end to end solution including shifter, bellhousing / driveshaft, speed converter, diff, etc... ideally I'd like a 'no faff' solution which is bolt on and doesn't have some of the major flaws we have seen with some parts/kits. I have emailed Serial Nine to understand whether they will be offering a full kit and the details thereof. I will update once I get a reply. I have emailed MaxWorx to get an update on any modifications to their kit (which would be my pref with serial nine shifter). I will update once I get a reply. Advice on: VQ adapter kit Diff - how difficult to fit Z33 diff? Speed converter - simplest bolt on solution? Additional parts not mentioned here |

It really depends on what engine you are using.
In my opinion the Mazworx kit is the best if you are using an SR20, EXCEPT for their shifter that they included with it as its not the best. A S9 or GkTech shifter is many times better, I used GkTech myself and it worked perfectly. Aside from that the Mazworx kit for SR20 works perfectly and includes everything. No personal experience with swaps for other engines. |

This is exactly what I was going to say. Mazworx kit with serial 9 shifter and in my case I’ll be using a shaftmasters driveshaft. The engine is about to be finished hopefully this week and maybe my S9 shifter will be here after a couple months of waiting and then I can tell you my tested thoughts as well. Bellhousing is on and I cut in front of the notch in the trans and then flap wheeled it back a little at a time to get the tightest fit possible. Here’s a picture for those looking to do the same. Also, this is on a JK40 370z trans so it has the extra bolt protrusion (I think) on the side I also cut down.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but the Mazworx kit is modular, meaning you can order everything or just the pieces that you need via the website.
So if you don't want the shifter you could easily just opt out of it. |

The S15 clutch and flywheel are also different spline counts if I am not mistaken so they physically would not work with a Z32 or Z33 transmission unless you machined the input shaft. |

I did the same thing ditching the dual mass flywheel then got a nismo set. Bummer, I guess I have to buy another set of s13/14 5MT flywheel/clutch. |

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm using SR20
I have heard back from Maxworx who confirmed their kit is now trouble free (and tbh it would be my preference due to their excellent work and customer service). They stated they can modify the driveshaft to fit the Z33 3.69 diff no problem. How does the Z33 diff compare to the S15 Helical or a 1.5/2way mechanical? Actually, I was wrong it's the 370z thats 3.69, is it a good street diff? Also, what is the best (and hopefully easiest) way to setup the speedometer with this setup? Mazworx do not supply a kit for the speedometer, not sure why but its a minor issue if there is a simple bolt on option available? |

Great feedback guys, thanks! I'm using SR20
I heard back from Mazworx who confirmed that their kit is now issue free and good to go. It, however, doesn't come with a speedometer kit. Whats the simplest option, hopefully bolt on? Also they said they can make the kit fit the z33 diff, is it a good diff? What about the 370z diff, 3.69. What type of diff is it? How does it compare to the standard silvia diff, and against the s15 helical? Or go for a mechanical 1.5 way? Looking for the best street setup. So far, it's looking like: * Mazworx trans swap kit + alloy driveshaft * Serial nine shifter * 370z diff (unless there is a better street option?) Missing: * Speedometer kit * Clutch + flywheel kit for 500-600bhp street |
