Lol I just throw super glue on my cuts, instantly stops bleeding. I cut the shit out of my hands working on my cars. So much I dont even notice when I actually cut myself until I see blood on what I am working on lol.

I knew it was going to be bad, I spent 20 minutes trying to be nice to that shit, then my fingers started to get sore, then I had to unloom the tape to wrap the wire around my fingers.
You have to be careful de-pinning cause you don't want to break the wire obviously or separate it from the pin. but man I just wraped my pointer finger around the plug as hard as I could and yanked with my right arm and it just started burning. LOL AIDS! |

heh, I wanted to go that route and tried it in a few areas and just accepted de-pinning was the least headache inducing method, besides I'm not shortening or lengthening any wire outside of the cabin.

fuck it's cold outside, this is the only place besides my blogspot i'm posting this i'm lazy.
The heat shrink I ordered came in, the two thinner tubes. I have since gone buckwild with my new toys. ![]() Tonight I sleeved some more connections, id say about 3-4 while also adding heat shrink to all of the other connections that had yellow tape on them previously. As I'm typing this at 1:09AM my new roommate has made a big splash with rockband, because they're still playing it loud as fuck. fuck my life. I threaded out about 15 feet or blue and red wire just to get this in the cabin, my ambient temp sensor for the digital climate control, which I am going to come up with some ingenious way of making this fucking thing fit through the sleeving material. ![]() I mean it doesn't really have a pin out, there is no removing the wires from this without damaging the sensor. So I sleeved the opposite end going from the firewall on forward. If sleeving isn't on my side for this connector then I'll just do something mad ghetto and hate myself for it later. haha j/k. I also ran out of 14ga wire while in the process of extending my electric fan wiring to the cabin of my car. So I busted a Nissan and used two 16ga wires and tied them together for the low speed fan and used the rest of my 14ga wire for the high speed. Lord knows when that mama jamma comes on, it's going to need all of the electrical foot room possible and skimping with a smaller wire size just isn't going to cut it. ![]() routed the newly extended wiring into the cabin, will need a bit more length on the fan wiring since I need it to hit the passenger side of my car, but definitely in the car now. Once I sort that jenky ass headlight wiring (see butt connectors) then I'll finish sleeving this bitch and work on finishing the fusebox. ONCE AND FOR ALL. |

LOL! Well besides getting the great news that I got laid off at least I have 1 more paycheck coming to me. fucking weak, then it's a matter of waiting for EED or EDD or whatever the hell it is to kick in.
I was going to pick up my ganador mirrors this weekend but decided to buy my girlfriend new tires for her car and get her an alignment since her safety is more important than my vanity items. However no worries, if I'm going to be unemployed I'm going to get something out of it. So I'll be picking those up next week, it's a damn shame really. I have to give up my 2 way diff in the s13 because I have no means or way to pay for it. I have enough materials available to complete the fuse box wiring somewhat, but until I have any more disposable income I may have to sell off some parts to get the car running. But since everyone is a low balling cock sucker, that's not even an option. ![]() ![]() That's where I left off, I seriously started to doze off while finishing this up. I was certain that I was going to finish this today, but hell I even blow off working on my car to surf the net. HAHA! I sat back down, started to work on it again, went on a coffee break. hilarious. well this thread will be postponed until I find a job pretty much, I'll try to post what little updates I can. |

I haven't updated this in a while.
Because I'm unemployed, aint like I got money to be working on this shit! haha j/k
As you may or may have not of read in a previous entry I had lost my job so that means there was some things I was unable to purchase out of luxury. One of those things being my LSD for my s13 (which was already on it at the time.) Being the previous owner "Luke" never removed it due to sheer laziness I decided to save him and me the trouble and offered to buy it. 5 months later it's getting repo'd lol. Luke swung by to pull the diff, I told him I had no way to pay for it and he could take it back as long as he put the stock diff back in place, so that was done as requested around last Thursday I believe it was. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess Ernie from DTC Performance needed the diff for a competition since he had a VLSD in his car... (ROFLS) hope you enjoy the diff bruddah! I'm going 1.5 when things turn around for me on this car. So it was nice to have you for one drive KAAZ 2 Way, you will be missed. But I just couldn't produce the disposable capital to keep you! But onto my car... I had my roommate order some delphi connectors for me so I could actually make plugs for my headlights instead of them being hardwired in as they were previously. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() YAY! It bothers me that this thing is soaked in gear oil... ![]() But I seriously do not feel like dropping it to re seal it, so much so I just bolted the drive shaft up tonight. A member on Zilvia was really cool and sent me some parts I needed for my build, saw that I was hitting some rough times.(and I'll definitely return the favor) But funny thing is I went shopping for all of this crap on Saturday and got all the wrong sizes for exhaust gaskets! Luckily I think I can get 18 bucks back from Napa. That's the plan anyway! ![]() Urethane exhaust hangars... the holes were too small so I had to take the dremel and make the holes bigger, burning hot urethane is very messy, that's all I'm going to say about that! ![]() I seriously have no idea why they cut up the fender wells like that to do the pull. But I need to have some metal welded in there asap so it doesn't on the underside of the panel metal. This is pretty much where I stopped at because I have no idea what in the fuck I did with the drive shaft retainer bolts... But I think I have a pretty good idea where they are now LOL! (transmission bracket) ![]() ![]() (the clearance looks really tight on this, but let me tell you these urethane hangars are a godsend. No more fucking rattling against my chassis, damn car sounded like a coffee can full of rocks being swung out back when it idled.) ![]() It was a bitch to get those hangars all on there and tightened up (two of them have bolts) one of which I think I stripped *doh* but at least I know that exhaust aint moving and that's all that matters. I dunno where my other exhaust bolts are but I am thinking the huge bolts I had no idea where they came from belonged to the exhaust on the s13. So I guess they're going to have to do on the s14. I bought some fluids for the car to get everything together and what not so I can wrap up the electrical when $$$$ permits but left all of it in my girlfriends car. *doh* Well I will work on this more tomorrow, I need to pick up my ganador's from Evan and stop giving that poor guy the run around and just ordered up the transmission and diff fluid right now with my last check. Gotta get this car running so I can look for a fucking job lol. c'mon unemployment! |

Um, Houston... We have... Some Problems.
Ok...
First up, I'm going to have to modify this. Everything bolted up off of the car fine, I suppose. ![]() On the car... ![]() is a different story. ![]() ![]() All I can say is, this is going to be LOUD. Oh, got my drive shaft bolted in... ![]() but. ![]() um, yeah? I'm going to grab the drive shaft that was on this motor on the s13 to see if that will make a difference, otherwise I need to figure out how this is going to work. and for BH and Dousan ![]() I approve of Aero Catch Hood Latches, bish ass bishes! ![]() |

Amsoiled... literally.
It was a really productive day.
Stopped at my parents to grab my spare drive shaft on the s13 to see if it would work on the s14. Grabbed the Dust Collar off of the KA24DE Transmission, bag of transmission bolts (since my SR was missing some.) The air compressor, the air gun, the air wrench, 1/2 swivel socket, some extensions. Headed back to the house, roughly about 11:55am here. ![]() happy package from amsoil. ![]() Oh I grabbed that crap too. Figured I'd fill the transmission from the interior of the car. Man it's hot today! ![]() Oh yeah, for you Evan! ![]() Ganadors, and vip zip ties from kragen lol (apparently they keep electric fan zip ties in the back.) ![]() fucking behemoth drive shaft (from my s13), shit looks like it's a space shuttle. ![]() Yay, fan mounted, took the dremel to it and made 3 holes and this is the result. (no more ghetto zip ties) ![]() obviously comparing drive shafts, doesn't look like the s13 one is going to work on my car. Much less, it worries me how skinny the shaft is to the differential on the s13 shaft. Which is on the bottom half of the picture. ![]() I decided to drop the diff to re-seal it, I dunno if it was leaking or what the fuck is wrong with it so tally ho. Had my roommate come out and help with it (pull the e-brake while I rotate the wheels) ![]() I got everything loose except for this bolt. I tried to drop the sub frame an inch or two to get direct access to it, but as soon as I put my air gun on one of the bolts, the socket adapter snapped into the socket. YAY! At least I know where the 650lbs of tq went. *jack off motion* The subframe won this battle, fuck it. I'll deal with the leak and check it often. ![]() ![]() I bolted the godamned thing back up and decided to change the fluid. ewe, and ewe... how the hell did KAAZ Fluid get this dark, the fluid on the s13 was still clear when we pulled that diff??? ![]() Filled with Amsoil 80-90 GL-5 gear fluid. See how this stuff holds up, I've heard nothing but good things about it. Slightly cheaper than buying KAAZ fluid as well. Got that squared away and figured it was time for the tranny fluid. Now I didn't take a picture of a lot of the dumb shit I did like pulling tabs through that radiator to mount the fans, or me scraping the diff plugs with a small flathead to get the dirt out of the gooves. Figured it was a waste of time and people don't clean that shit anyway. They just change their fluid and plug everything back up. I on the other hand cleaned up all of the parts back there. ![]() I really tried to get the filler bolt loose on the tranny, but I just bitched out and did it this way because it's easier. There seemed to be some fluid still in the transmission so I unbolted that plug. While that was draining I spent about 20 minutes trying to get that friggin retainer clip out for the shifter. And this is a lesson in humility. ![]() Guess how much of that first quart I poured before I had realized I never put the drain plug back in? And what makes this even better is I was more concentrated on taking a super douche bag doofey dumpledore dickbreathed picture of myself pouring oil from inside of my car. I quickly jumped under the car and plugged it up with my hand and put the bolt back in, I got oil all over EVERYTHING putting the plug in, granted I had my drain bucket under it. The thought didn't even cross my mind, at that point I was ready to kick the car off of the jack stands. That's the second time I've jiffy lubed my car. MOTHER FUCK! ![]() Fuck you car... ![]() ![]() ![]() suck me low. |

I woke up at 4:30am this morning, browsed the web for a bit, kissed my girlfriend goodbye for the week, and grabbed some OJ. I've quit drinking coffee cold turkey, I cheated and had starbucks last Tuesday but that's only because I had to drive to Pasadena and I was falling asleep using my roommates car.
Went into the garage and figured today would be a good day to wrap up all of the intercooler dealings, get it all clamped in and buttoned up, also to put my front body harness back together. ![]() check out the cool gloves my roommate gave me, they're for electrical stuff and what not. Grounds your hands or something like that, lol. ![]() 5:45am ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() look at the location for the ambient temp sensor for the digital climate control. I stopped halfway though to take a breakfast break, ended up beating battlefield bad company during this break, I was already half way through the game. After all was said and done, this game sucked. It played like rainbow six, and if anyone knows me I am a HUGE battlefield fan. Went back to the garage. My measurements for the electric fan wiring were a bit off, but then again I have an over sized radiator that doesn't exactly fit my car properly. ![]() After I got the harness back together, I got all of the hoses for the radiator in and clamped down, filled the radiator with coolant. And of course, forgot to tighten the drain... lol luckily not that much leaked and it's still topped off, but there goes my dry garage floor. Yes too much reading and not enough pictures asshole. I see what you're saying. ![]() ![]() I then decided to take the dremel to my vertex front bumper. I wish I had some kind of sanding device to make the shit I did even, but seriously I could lay more glass in here if it bothered me that everything is no longer symmetrical. ![]() this is not computer generated, and I'm only 25 percent done. ![]() done, fuck poor dremel, already sounds like it's going bad haha. I would also like to add, I fucking hate working with fiberglass, so I tried to one up it this time and put on a sars mask, eyeglasses, long sleeve shirt, had jeans on, gloves. You do not understand agony until you spend a day with a nice coat of fiberglass in your forearms. I then test fit the bumper by just putting it on the bumper support, not one screw at all holding it in place. This is so beautiful. ![]() ![]() ![]() Why so high? is the SR lighter than a KA? ![]() ![]() Sat a fender on the car to double check. (wow it is pretty high, that's odd.) Then I kind of sat around for a while, thought about life while sipping on some OJ. Decided to finish the remainder of the harness with a boot of heat shrink I had placed back here but never heated up, then did the deed, pulled the harness back in the cabin through the plug. And put in my aluminum skid plate, you may also notice I have the old oem harness cover over the tech flex, which makes the wiring look twice as thick. Being I already double bagged the harness with tech flex. There is a lot of shag metal the flex can snag on, so I want it double protected out here at the front of the car. Troubleshooting electronics is one thing, but when you cant easily access them, that's another monster. ![]() You can see here that if my harness ever breaks it's zip ties holding it up, it will just fall and rest on the skid plate (which only has one screw in it, otherwise it's more of a tight fit where it is. ![]() ![]() And I'm just going to dive into the fuse box dealio tomorrow. I still do not know what to do with my power steering hose, I think I'm going to yank the one off of the s13 and put it on my s14. I don't feel like dismantling the engine and trying to get the old KA power steering pump to work. Anyway, I'll keep the updates moving. I packed up shop when it started to get dark. |

If you've ever worked on electrical before.
Then you would have this face too.
![]() In the process of wiring up my fuse box I took the time to penetrate all of my contacts with the soldering iron and get a little solder up on the wire to hold it in place. Then I have an odd fuse 15 amp with no wire going to it, check my reference sheet and it says a solid red wire about 16ga should be attached there. But I see no solid red wire! Fuck me, I remembered when I was pulling the wires through the fender well boot that there was a host of red wires that went to absolutely nothing, like at least 3-4 wires off of one lead. At first I decided to cut the extra wires out of the equation, then I just de-pinned it and threw the wire in my spare wire box in case I needed it again. Luckily for me I found it, as it’s the wire that runs to the headlight fuse and relay. DOH! ![]() (I would also like to add, this is a very uncomfortable position to be in for 8 hours.) But then I had another problem, the FSM states that the pin should be in the 8 socket, and there was a red/white wire in the 8 socket. So I double checked, triple checked, and quadruple checked that every other wire was where it was supposed to be, and was trying to figure out why in the hell the red/white wire was where it wasn’t supposed to be? ![]() ![]() Here is our 39 15 amp fuse, and here is where the wire branches off. ![]() one wire to this guy. slot number 8 on plug E105 ![]() ![]() Strangely enough 11, and 12 are not listed as to what goes into those slots on the above chart. ![]() slot number 8 has a red/white wire in it. or R/W as indicated in the FSM. ![]() You can clearly see that R/W wire should be in slot number 5 according to the FSM so how it got here is beneath me, or is it above me…. Or is it beside me? ah who knows. So easy fix. ![]() (just a helpful tip for those who will do electrical work. In the fsm when reading pin outs for the plugs, and it shows you a picture of the plug as I posted above. Although I have it slightly crooked in this picture, this is how the pin out is illustrating the plug. You can always cross reference your pin out's by reading what's supposed to be in the other holes.) de-pin the number 8 slot, insert our red wire (R). and slide the (R/W) red/white wire into slot number 5, which is directly above or parallel to 8. However you want to call it. The ups man showed up as I was working on the fuse box. ![]() yay! ![]() (replacing most of the old fuses, and 25 & 30amp fuses, finally. which replace those huge block fuses previously in the engine bay.) and now for pictures that don’t make much sense. ![]() I had to extend the turn signal wiring to the passenger side of the dash, and I’m going to add in the extensions for the rest of the wiring today. ![]() (another helpful tip, make that shit longer before you have everything buttoned up like this, otherwise you will have to solder in the most uncomfortable position on the planet. ![]() As I was undoing the screws that hold the smj in place, I dropped one in the body of the car which is pretty much virtually un-reachable without removing the dash bar. I fucking swear if that goddamned thing rattles when I drive I am going to be soooo pissed. I am going to attempt to get it out today, which means removing the dash bar yet again. ![]() UGH! Time to hit the shower, just got home from the gym, then back to the garage to slave away for the rest of today. I should have this all said and done. |
