got the engine sitting in for mock up. also, got it started today just to make sure of everything before the start up warranty runs out.
the engine is sitting about as far back as i can get it. Will trim off a threaded tab on the back of the intake below the vacuum port to make it clear the master cylinder better. brake lines will need to be changed. maybe go to a banjo fitting style connection. waiting on my Collins adapter to mock up the trans and shifter... ^^ video of it running on the floor I show up here and the thread dies, lmao |

How to start your 2JZGTE VVTI on the floor. alot of people have done it but none post how they(DICKS) did it.
This is how I did it and i assume no responsibility to anyone messing up their ECU or burning down their garage. lol I used Wilbo's pin out http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/page/4...ngine%20Wiring FUEL I took an old fuel pump a buddy(The Heeb) had from his D21 sitting around. Wired it straight to a battery with a switch on the floor and cut open an old 1 Gallon fuel can and submerse the pump. Fuel goes in at the bottom by the starter, the return is underneath the intake. The fuel lines on my swap was left long so i didnt have to splice in or anything. Electrical Starter and ground straight to the battery. F59 This connector was missing from my swap. Got it from a 99 Lexus RX300 ECU, pass side kick panel I wired the STA wire with PIN 8 wire on BF2. tells the ECU that its cranking F60 found same as F59 +12 Volts on +BM, BATT, +B2, +B, and IGSW Some are constant, some are switched. but for our purpose here, wire them all together and straight to the battery. I used a large wire nut to hold them together and added a single wire to the battery. BF2 I got this male side of the connector from 99 Lexus RX300 drivers side kick panel PINS 6,7,9 all to the battery. Once again I just used a wire nut to put them all together added a forth to the battery. PIN 8 is the starter solenoid wire. TRANSMISSION The automatic's PARK is all they back towards the driveshaft. I was loosing injector pulse and the engine would only fire for a second. Turned out to be the coil pack connectors was damaged and ECU was shutting down fuel as well. i did a temp fix on the connectors and she fired right up and idled. |

I know this has been asked alot but how cheap can this swap be done nowadays? I have around 8k, and not looking to get too crazy with it yet will want it done right. If I'm able to fabricate everything I need, thus not needing to buy a kit, tube the front to have some more wiggle room, and etc; can it be done within my budget?
I don't have a S13 chassis yet which is the big question mark. Would a stock KA'd car solve any issues as far as various hoses, and random stuff that can switch over when compared to just a rolling shell? Like everyone, I have big ambitions for a 240 build but would hold off on a kit/wheels and other form stuff if a JZ swap could be reasonably attainable within my budget. |

I am sure it has been covered plenty of times but i cant seem to find it. I am going over my catch can ideas, but i am curious on which way is best to run lines from the valve on the drivers side. Mine is currently plugged since i got it from the shipment. Should i tap it? Weld it? If i tap it has anyone done this personally and know which tap sizes to use? Please reply below or anyone PM me would be even greater!

no crossmember mods needed. oil pan fits in there nice. you will have to take the oil filter adapter off to mount drivers side and you will have to modify the oil return line if you are using the "twins" still

awesome save me a little time and headache. I'm going PTE 6667 so the oil return i think should be fine. Also any recommendations on a decently priced turbo mani? i was thinking quicksilver but havent really had much experience with their products.

Only complaints are the one bolt right by the water neck. its a tight fit in there so that one is hard to tighten. Also since the first runner is made to fit around a turbo with a huge comp cover the bolt to remove the tstat housing cant be removed once its on. solved that by getting a rotation adapter. |

At a toss up, my engine harness will accept a 2jz ecu, so ive been looking at standalones. I run an aem in my SC but it seems like it can be a bit finicky. what are you guys using?
Friend of mine has been mentioning the haltech elite lately. |

I have an AEM EMS V2. on a JDM 2JZ-GTE. and the car ran great for a good while after i had it tuned, then it seemed to have an issue, had the tune checked then it ran good, then it went weird. Now this year i've been fighting running issues, not sure if it's the AEM's fault or the old wiring harness or what.

Radiator hose popped one me...tsk tsk. Had a very very very small hole in it that didn't leak but a drip would bleed through every few days or so. Don't think my fans kicked on which caused the high pressure.
*Had this OBX Silicon Radiator hose for years of abuse, the little hole just made a weak point.

Are you using Dexron ATF for your power steering. I remember when I had my supra, you had to use ATF as opposed to "power steering" fluid. I think you can use either Dexron II or III. |
