Yes sir Dexron III ATF - power steering works great for a few days then it dumps it everywhere as I drive

It's the same as a supra 2jzgte pump. But I would make sure you have absolutely no leaks. I run just power steering fluid and have only had a problem when I'm hot lapping at a drift event an it starts to boil over, but have since added a external cooler. What high pressure line are you running?

I've got the Chase bays I believe. Now that I think about it I believe my rack may have a leak but would that really cause fluid to push out of the reservoir?

It can. When there is a leak it creates air in the system. So when you turn the wheel, that "air pocket" moves thru your ps system and pushes out the reservoir

Mine does pretty much the same thing. It will run great for a few days then one day it will be having issues.

Its never not ran, but it definitely makes less power some days.
Ive notice the timing will change under WOT and full boost, as well as cruising afr.

Sounds like either a wiring or mechanical issue. I've ran aem for a year and never had an issue.

I'm with 91ka24, you have something wiring related going on (sensor connections or loose pin somewhere) as I have had that issue on a friends FD RX7 on aem v1 at the wiring at the ECU plug where if you move the wiring by the main ecu plug, the car idles different and felt completely different through the revs. It also happened again on his 2nd FD running Power FC but was a fault in the factory harness somewhere by the Throttle Position Sensor as we started moving the wiring while running and listened to the car idle change. Replaced the entire harness with one from Rywire and ran perfect from there on.

I would be entirely surprised if it was a wiring issue. ive looked over it quite a bit but the factory harness is pretty complex and hidden in a few places.

Its parked for the winter now while I work on the 240.

In the spring I plan on adapting the extra harness I have (If it doesn't sell) for the 1J in the 240.

I just oreder the ProEFI 128, adapter harness, and flex fuel sensor setup for black friday. I'm more than excited, I've been saving for months and debating on AEM Infinity or Proefi. For once I wish my car was ABS so I could take advantage of the traction control feature lol.

I'm on j30 rear.

Pretty sure I'm going to give the haltech elite a try for this car. Seems like all the people i know that had a haltech switched to it and are in love.

Also I run a Q45 diff in my s13. Should be nice with the R154 gearing.

Hey guys,

So I've been working on installing my Tomei FPR and decided to upgrade to 6AN Fittings since the regulator came with them.. When I went to upgrade, I purchased a 6AN Banjo from Earls, and my line and line fittings from ebay seller and it looks like Earls Banjo has a different seating design. I've started to grind down the area of fitting that is bottoming out on other fittings, but just wanted to see what you guys think about doing this?

It looks like the actual tapered area just in front of the threads is what seals so I'm not too worried about it. I plan on also using Loctite Thread sealant just to be safe. You all think this is ok?

edit: Alright, scratch that... The second pic is showing what I have it grinded down to now, but it still stops in the same spot. It appears the thread pitch is actually different. I guess I assumed all AN fitting used the same thread pitch, but I guess not? I see now how the design was suppose to work, but unfortunately the piece is destroyed now.. lol.

I have the factory fuel feed hard line coming up in the oem location but don't like it there - Too close to my downpipe.

Anybody redo their fuel hard lines?

I want to do a crossover hard fuel line high in the engine bay, and I guess I'll just heat wrap it or something near the downpipe (which is also wrapped).

The q45 final drive is way too lazy with r154.

I want to move to a 3.6 or 3.9 when I put my q45 rear end in.

I'm currently using the j30 rear end with the r154 and it still kinda sucks - 5th gear will go over 160 easily.

CD009 people- looking at using a collins adapter/drive shaft/clutch etc with their full kit.

What engine mount kit should I go with? or does it not matter. Thinking just using an ebay set up since the price for the other shops is high and the include a trans mount which I don't need. I will be running a J30 rear end for the time being, but worried the gearing will be way to high since this is a drift car.

Just started my swap.. Looking forward to contributing to the thread and also I'd love to put up a little FAQ website that people can contribute to.. that way things are a bit more organized.

I'll be putting in a 2JZ-VVTi into my S13. Pretty pumped, just investigating cost/benefit of Collins adapter/Z trans vs R154...

I don't know much about pricing. How much did you guys pay for your jdm 2jz long block? no tranny or ecu.

I'm looking to pick up a jdm 2jzgte non vvti auto, but I'm not getting the tranny or ecu. It comes with harness and everything else. I have no idea how much it's worth.?

1800 with trans, igniter, ecu

Make sure you check the compression, don't know how to do that without the starter though

I paid 1900 shipped for my vvti 2j. Included the auto trans, harness, ecu, maf and piping. I live 4 hours away from the importer so I drove up and hand picked my engine and got them to do a compression test in front of me. If you have an importer close, I'd suggest you do the same thing if possible.
