Honestly, I've been reading more anime than going into manga.
HOLYLAND has become one of my absolute favorites of all-time. It's a mixed martial arts/street fighting manga, but it's a hundred times more realistic than some cliche titles like "Strongest Disciple Kenichi" and "Grappler Baki". ZETMAN is basically a superhero mindf*ck when getting on the topic of one's ethics vs morals and is quite well-drawn. BERSERK is still ongoing and is the #1 selling manga in existence and holds record for being the one translated to the most languages... case in point, the manga is STILL ongoing by the original author and has been since it was first released in 1990. First and second volumes of the book are a bit on the slow side with mostly random killings as a warm-up for the crazy storylines to appear later on. (However, if you're not comfortable with rape, uncensored torture, and obvious stabs at medieval viewpoints of catholicism, you'd best not read it). I'm loving it since the movies follow the manga perfectly but without making things get boring or easily predictable.
I'm looking forward to seeing Alucard as a ...well... little girl with an uzi. lol.
|

just finished deadman wonderland
not bad some are saying that the 12 episode first season is it but I have read that there is an ova comming out this fall ***spoiler alert!*** this kind of reminds me a of mix of elfen lied and superjail. if you think about it the storyline is kind of a mix of the two. Tamaki really reminds me of "the warden" from super jail and the whole premise of a crazy private jail amusement park type thing were inmates are used to entertain. The story line between shiro and ganta really reminds me of elfen lied and the story line of lucy and kohta. Very verrry similar, child hood friends with the female possessing special powers that she uses to kill the male's loved ones and they become friends again after the male forgets about the female... well that concludes my museings for the day |

I am going to be on an hour long flight next week and am looking to watch a movie or two on my phone so I thought at least one should be anime. Being that the screen is small I guess it would have to be english dubbed since the subtitles would be so small, even though I prefer subs. Anyone have any suggestions?
So far I was thinking about Paprika, that looks interesting. I also haven't watch akira in a long time, but I don't think I watched it with english dubs, any good that way? |

makes it easier to follow the story line liking Fairy Tail it's formulaic typical battle/level up anime but it's pretty well done |
