LOL, dude, we've already gone over this. adding an inch of lip will only change your offset by a little under 13mm. I was confused as fuck at first too, but if you do the math it all checks out.

You need to understand when u add a inch it does not go directly to lowering the offset by 1 inch since u have 2 halves basically when u are figuring out offset. So if you add something to a lip u only factor in half off whatever you add. you need to understand how offsets work to understand what i mean/how it works.
This is not the same as adding a spacer since when u add a spacer your are applying it to the backspace of a wheel. As far as fitment goes, weather you were to add a inch spacer or add a inch to the lip it will have the same effect on clearence to the fender, but offset wont be the same. |

well, i had to write it down, but i finally figured it out.
it was just difficult to understand since for some reason i also thought you were stating that adding 1in (25.4mm) doesnt mean gaining an actual inch @ the lip... but the specific topic here was that a full inch on only 1 side wouldnt change the final offset by a full inch, etc. "you need to understand how offsets work to understand what i mean/how it works." was silly of you to say, though. you can understand a main concept yet not understand one of it's 'sub' concepts.

I live in the southern states, and I would like to get my front wheels widened, well not necessarily widened just more lip. There 2pc 19in Volks. I've read through this thread but I'm not sure who to contact to go through with this nor a round about number on the cost.
Could someone point me in the right direction as to who to contact, and even if there are places in Texas, Louisiana, etc that offer the service. It sucks not living near SoCal. Here is a pic of the wheel I want more lip. Offset is not a issue I can fit almost anything. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1345517386.869399.jpg It's only about a 1in lip, and I'd like to have around a 2.5-3in. Someone help? And to add I searched the forum, and found this thread so thought I would post up and ask.

Just picked up a set of some euroline type N's. i figured i'd post in here because i am looking to widen them a little...however, i've searched and cannot seem to get a straight answer if they are actually 3 piece bolted, or 3 piece welded. also, anyone know a good place to try and find some centercaps for them? haha
i guess i should share the sizes, they are 17x8 +10 fronts and 17x9 +10 rears Last edited by EdwardHZ; 09-15-2012 at 03:00 PM.. Reason: whoops |

3 Piece Wheel Help
I've been gone from this Forum forever...
I decided to Pick up my 3 piece C2 project again because im tired of rocking 15 inch SE 240sx wheels i bought lips and barrels which are 2 piece, Which I Intended to use on my Racing Hart C2s... but they are welded together on the Inside So my Question is if the Barrels and Lips can be Cut Apart So that i can Use them to rebuild my C2s? Or would i just be better off Finding Faces to drop in to the welded Barrels/Lips? The Barrels and Lips are for 18 inch 40 hole wheels such as VX-SS, and EuroLine faces. Here are Pics... Sorry they are from my Crappy BlackBerry What the Weld Looks like Between the Barrels and lips: ![]() Fronts: ![]() ![]() Front Lips: ![]() Rears ![]() ![]() Rear Lips: ![]() Overall picture of one 8 wide and one 9 wide Lip and barrel set up ![]() Any Input would be helpful, Thanks!!!!

You are better off finding a face to drop in. Unless you have precision machining equipment to cut the lip and face apart, you will likely ruin one half of the wheel when cutting the weld.

Hi!
I'm toying with the idea of making my 2 piece old school BBS RSII's into 3 piece. They are sadly non staggered, 17x9 et20 all of them. As I'll be taking them apart anyways (cutting the huck bolts, then replacing them with M8 wheel bolts), this idea occured in my head. According to rough calculations these sizes are achievable: Front: 17x9.5 et14 (plus a 15mm spacer, so et-1) Rear: 17x10.5 et1 or 17x11 et-5 (no spacers) I have a friend in a aluminium and wheel specific company, so they could machine the original lip off and machine the wheel center flat to accept custom lips. Just want to ask for opinions on the sizes, and if you think it would worth the hassle for such old school wheels. Since JDM wheels are hard to come by here, and wages are shit, this is my only option to have wide 3 piece wheels with cool offsets. ![]() They would go on my stock body S14. Fender roller, here I come.. ![]() Any experiences, ideas, opinions are very welcome! |

im running 17 x11 0 offset in the rear of my s14 with chargespeed and they are flush so it will be hard to fit 17x11 et-5 on a stock s14 with just a roll u need to do alot more then that. I would stay with 10.5 in the back and go 10 in the front no spacer

11 -5 could fit with 245/40s, a big pull, and like -3 camber....just depends on what look/function he's going for.
It took a lot of work to make my 17X11 -1 work with 245/40s and -1.3 camber, if I wasn't looking for normal amount of rear camber they would have been fairly easy to fit.

To be honest I'd like to maintain my current suspension setup, it seems to work for me (in degrees and minutes):
F: 2'50" camber, 0 toe, 7'30" castor R: 1'10" camber, 0 toe It seems like 10.5 et1 is the way to go! Compared to a 9.5 et12 it pokes out about 24mm more. So I assume I could be fine with some stretch and a decent pull. blueshark123: I don't really want to go bigger, as I'm planning steering modifications too, it could be an advantage later. 95KA-Turbo: I checked your work with the fenders, awesome job! I don't think I have the skills for this, so no 11" for me.. ![]() Thanks a lot guys! Last edited by pitesy; 09-24-2012 at 01:24 PM.. |
