If this were my car and I just had to have the gauges mounted on top of the dashboard, then I would drill down through the dash to run the cable. Yes, you are committing to having gauges there since you will be drilling permanent holes, but it will look a lot cleaner. I would also trim the mounting feet down to make them smaller... then screw the feet to the dashboard with small black screws. At least round the corners to give them not such an edgy feel. The big square feet look out of place on a nice rounded dash. Trim, then hit them with black spray paint since the edges you grind will be bare metal.

Here is an example of how I did them on a friend's STi. I trimmed the feet then ran the cable through foot and out of sight. I used some small black screws to hold the feet down permanently.

Holy Cow that is clean!! thanks for the idea!! when i put it all back together i will be doing that? Did you run wood type screws in or a machine screw/nut on the back with washer so it doesn't pull through? i did always hate the wires there but didn't want to drill holes in the dashboard.

Im hating on everyone who is hating on everyone else, nobody has anything positive to say about anything. There are a lot of very clean interiors in this thread but because the seats don't cost more than the car people don't appreciate it. Its just dumb.

Shady, no one said anything about your interior... I'm not sure why you are so defensive!?! All of the comments were towards the two interiors on the previous page. And no one said anything about needing nice seats to have an acceptable interior. It's like you are reading these posts and assuming things that we aren't even implying. What most of these interiors need are not nice seats, but to simply clean up some of the stuff they have going on.

Oh, and keep on protecting our asses. I'm sure deep inside everyone respects and thanks you for risking your life. My installer is a Purple Heart Marine that fought in Fallujah. I get to hear plenty of stories and it's still hard for me to believe that you guys risk your life in combat. It's some pretty deep stuff when you think about my everyday life in the States compared to those that are deployed in the military. Not interior pics, but a couple of my installer in Fallujah. It's very surreal when you see pics of someone you know really well in the shit of it.
