I like some of the newer stuff this season too. As mentioned, Usagi Drop is pretty nice, No.6 is interesting so far.. and I think it's The Archives of Dantalian or whatever? Seems pretty chill. Last season's Hanasuka Iroha, Steins;Gate and Blue Exorcist are what I am keeping up with.
I need to watch Fairy Tale, it's so damn long though. I'll probably pick that up after I finish FMA:BH which should be sooon |

original OAV was a mess iirc :thumbs-up: starts slow but starts getting good (and convoluted) at around ep 10. |

also didn't know that steins gate is based on a game not on manga
maybe thats why its very unique. most game based shows movies etc tend to suck but this kicks ass! |

What's the deal with all the moe and "dark" anime and manga these days? It doesn't interest me in the slightest. It's a bunch of depressing 12 year olds and gore. I have to really dig to find something that even remotely interests me now.
It makes me feel like an old music snob. If I made a personal top ten of anime and manga most of it would be older than ten years and a lot of it would be near 20.

Wrong use of the word I guess..
..I've been staring at this white box for 5 minutes and can't come up with a way to put words together to logically explain what I was trying to relate.. so I'm going to just ignore it all together and get back to working.. Anyways, even though it caters to the whole "dark and dismal" thing I think Death Note was one of the better ones to come out in the past couple of years |

My idea of dark is deeper adult(doesn't mean boobs and sex every where) story telling. More along the lines of a Shakespearean drama than Saw 2.
I know it's not really anime but I'm watching the new Thunder Cats and it's actually pretty good. I am very surprised. They do to many close in shots but the animation and art in general is great.

The Gundam series is a huge marker for how much anime has changed. They've gone from serious to a fault with a major focus on the characters to a bunch of whiny kids with their bubble gum colored robot of the week.
00 was a step in the right direction but they seem to be going back the other way. I am disappoint.

I like War in the pocket and Stardust Memories.
I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about them. War in the pocket is just damn good film making. So adult and childlike at the same time. I want some anime made for adult males. Not 13 year old girls that are into fem dudes. Not the pervert lolicon otaku manchild demographic. ADULT MALES. More GitS. More Black Lagoon. More adult Gundam. More Bebop. More ShinChan.

i liked 0083 as well but i feel that after war gundam x was one of the best gundam series ive ever seen but it was too short imo, the new series AGE looks like crap and im hoping they dont screw up The Origin when that comes out but that may come as an OAV instead of a tv series like unicorn

Tiger & Bunny (ongoing) is great. Fresh take on superhero anime.
Finished Deadman Wonderland season 1 - AWESOME. Hopelessly wishing there were more Full Metal Panic/Fumoffu, but oh well. Just downloaded Panty and Stocking w/ Garterbelt, heard it was good +1 vote for Gundamn 0083: Stardust Memory as best Gundam series Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz was the prettiest series for me, even if the story was meh. Waiting for translation of the new Macross Frontier movie. That series was gorgeous. |

Macross Plus is pretty nuts too.
I swear I'm into more than giant robots fighting it out. That genre at that time just had a lot of what I look for in anime.
