I've been slow getting this thing together but today might be the day. One fuel line, some small wiring and I should be done. Gonna repost my tutorial thread for anyone interested. Hopefully last few thatdudeinblue videos are released soon to finish the thread. http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=594842 |

Does anybody make a adapto plate for a 2j with a rb25 trans? I want to do the cd009 trans but this rb trans is just sitting there. Where's everybody mounting a catch can.

Temps
guys that are drifting their 2j's, what temps are you running?
2j vvti with stock twins right now, just ran second event with this package and its hitting 230 degrees. no boiling or puking coolant. i know the sensor in the water neck is going to be the hottest point, but damn. not used to these temps, the old sr would run 180-190 on the hottest days have mishimoto x line with 2 12" ebay fans with no shroud. looks like im going to get higher cfm fans and try to fit a shroud in there... |

Drifting or not, CFMs are CFMs and those eBay fans are not doing shit for you. Upgrade to some Fals, Altimas, Taurus, IS300 or swap to clutch fan. Any of those are going to be a huge improvement.

I had both sides of the Trac cut out and then the holes welded shut. My coolant pipes are still there so I still use them. If you want to bypass the TB you can. IIRC one side comes from the head and the other goes to the hardpipe that's bolted to the intake by the mount for the dipstick ...

I assume you mean a340? I don't know what a - a30 auto is I am using the auto in my s14, and no you do not need to bang out the tunnel. I did a little massaging on the firewall/top of tunnel, but looking back I don't think it was needed, a little more clearance if anything.

The fans are pulling air pretty good from what I can feel on the front side of the rad. I am going to pull the rad and build a custom shroud to save as much space as I can and maybe move the right side fan to get it further away from the water pump pulley. I am going single turbo soon (parts coming) it's a bw 360, maybe change the water pump to one that doesn't have a huge hump in the pulley to save space? It's also possible that I have a air pocket that I can't get out. I didn't pay too much attention to the little jiggle valve thing on the thermostat when I changed it... Also what are you guys doing with the heater hose/pipe setup? I have a hose running to that connection in the back of the head bypassing the heater core that looks like poo and maybe trapping air due to it being much higher than the rad cap... |

You pretty much outlined everything you need to do. Check your tstat. Bleed your system. Build a shroud. Come back and let us know how it goes!

Very easy, leave all your lines in place where they were OEM. Route them all the same way, only thing you change is the connections for the low/high side that hook to the compressor to the 2j fittings(obviously the KA ones won't fit). That's it, change two wires and go get it charged at your favorite AC guy. If you want pics or more info search my old posts in this thread I've got it covered.

I'm about to pick up my 2j to drop in my 350z , just worried about the shifter location using my z trans with Collins adaptor .are there any custom options to mount the shifter on the black plate some how or another? If not the motor sits very close to the front rad leaving no room for puller fans.
