That's because RWD is more fun.

Stroker crank with 87mm bore (no sleeves). We noticed some coolant coming out of the over flow after tuning and with 1/2" head studs and Tomei head gasket the head gasket should of held that boost. Apparently the stock sleeved block bored to 87mm can fail at this power. The cylinders can oval and crush/crack the water passages and blow the head gasket which is exactly what happened to the block. I don't have any data logs but I have the dyno chart from when it happened |

Did the block get bored with or without a torque plate?? That may be a reason why the cylinder failed (if no plate was used that is). Seen it time and time again in the FWD community as the AL block is very susceptible to boring more than 0.5mm over without a plate on big boy boost.
If not, interesting either way on the failure mode. Are you getting a sleeved block next?? |

Yep now running a mazworx sleeved block with billet main caps all machined by mazworx. So far it's handling the power and even did a half dozen 1/2 mile runs at shift sector in Oregon last summer. Quote:

The Sr20/Sr22vet thread
I'm sure it's near the ragged edge at these power levels. This general combo seems to be pretty common here which is cool. I know there's tons of variables, but were there any other any things pointing to what helped it let go.

Quick question for the masses: Which coil packs are you folks using with the P11 valve cover??
I am looking to install this type (it seems I would have to cut off the mounting tab since the P11 valve cover does not have any mounting boses) |

If you need some I have spares as I choose to run a P12 valve cover with splitfire coil instead. |

We do, they're the coils that we use on our black S15

I'm running the AEM pencil coils, plenty of "suction" to hold them tight on my P11 head.

Do you have a link to the CNC CAS cover?

The cover Hans is most Likely talking about is to blockoff the cas hole left if you are not running the p12 cas. The only p12 cas plastic cover billet replacement that provides added clearance for the firewall is the PRL motorsports billet cas cover. I had one on hand but sold it to a buddy after changing minds and going hall effect crank/cam. Cant see it listed but see with prl they are xcellent to do business with great prices and products |

They don't make it anymore. I tried to buy one last week. MAZWORX: make this! Or better yet, make me one so I can use a p12 cas on my engine without destroying my firewall.

Guy, not having a CAS cover isn't my problem... lol THE OEM P12 CAS CAP HITS THE FIREWALL. This means that aftermarket ones like circuitsports etc (which are modeled after the oem one) will hit too. The custom billet one I posted is machined to clear the bulge in the firewall.

The Sr20/Sr22vet thread
I never tried the factory cover and I think I picked up the PRL one, but with the drift freaq motor mounts, it's definitely snug there...maybe 3-4mm of space now

Interesting, I'm using the factory cover on my P12 CAS and have no clearance issue.
