Hey guys wondering if someone had any experience with this,so i just did a compression test on the 2jz vvti engine that arrived at my house and all the cylinders were fine reading 145-150 psi except for cylinder #5. When i first took off the coil for cylinder 5 i noticed there was oil pooled up inside and with the spark plug still in place but no evidence of a leak from the valve covers or anything around it so I that worried me a bit. So when i did the compression on cylinder #5 the reading was 100 psi
I went ahead and dropped some oil into the cylinder and than the reading jumped to 180-200psi. Does that mean the piston ring is bad?I got about 10 days to return it so just wondering i should do a leak down test or stop any testing now and just take it back for an exchange or money back. Thanks guys |

So I have a little dilemma .
I have 3/4-distance from the water pump pulley to the radiator and my intake inter cooler coupling just fits when I trim it as much as I can while still retaining a (90°) angle. Is anyone familiar with the z rad support ?I do have the condenser still in there since I want to run ac, but would like to gain an inch or so. Anyways here's pics. Also what's the slimmest 4"intake filter available? |

Not sure if you found one yet, but I have seen this one before in my searches on summit before, pretty cheap too http://m.summitracing.com/parts/spe-8161 Also I agree with everyone else, shorten the throttle body and get rid of the trac unit

I haven't driven mine in almost 2 months. Somehow the cylinder 3 ringland gave up causing me to lose compression. Swapped my gsc s2 cams out, put in the stock cams, tried starting and just kept cranking. Prob washed out the walls.
Was putting the car back to stock to sell it and then it does this to me lol. Will prob part it out or sell as is, even though it's somewhat apart.

Why do you want to sell it? Stick with it and get it running good.

Just lost interest and taking priorities right now (paying down loan and going back to school). Trying to increase my yearly pay and may relocate to a different state. Would like to start over when the time is right and do things differently.

Power steering reservoir hose
Hi guys, thought I'd post some helpful info about the power steering reservoir hose needed to hook up your power steering with a VVTI 2jzgte.
Some people use any hose for this, but you should only use the proper type rubber hose rated for power steering fluid. You dont want the wrong type rubber breaking down and possibly ruining your P/S pump and steering rack. Parts required: 1 Gates 350030 Power Steering Reservoir Line Hose - Cut To Fit. This is 5/8" hose and is the right size. 2-3 barbed 90 degree brass elbows ( I only needed 2 elbows for the hose routing I chose ) 1 box of Breeze Stainless Steel hose clamps Made in USA You need the elbows because the straight hose will pinch. I bought 3 elbows for more flexibility in how I run the hose, but 2 elbows may be enough. If anyone knows of a pre bent power steering reservoir hose that fits this setup please let me know because less failure points is always a good thing!
