since some models of the 350z come with brembo calipers, I'm sure they design their wheels to clear those brakes calipers. Yes, the sti/evo brembos are a little bigger than the 350z but they should still clear.

Ok well I kinda hate to beat a dead thread but it seems that this is the best place to post and keep all the info in one place:
I picked up some evo front calipers and am having some brackets machined. But what front brake lines should I use? Sti? Or evo? Or Nissan? Also, what rear brake upgrade best compliments this setup? It seems the op did sti rears but no ebrake solution. Someone else commented that they preferred the z32 rears for roadracing. What is the piston size and swept area of the sti rears vs z32 rears? And how do the rear rotors compare between the evo and z32? Thanks! |

Rear brake upgrade: 300zx, r33 or r34 brembo, or sti brembo. Honestly the brembo isn't any bigger than the 300zx in the rear. The actual caliper and piston look to be about the same size from what I have seen. And sti rear will work with 300zx e-brake. Swept area: If you use 300zx rotor with the sti brembo, then obviously would be the same. You can use evo rear rotors but then you can't use the e-brake. |

Hmm it seems the hassle free solution would be:
front : evo calipers, rotors, pads and 300zx conversion lines. Rear: 300zx rear hubs, calipers, rotors, pads, ebrake, and conversion brake lines. |

So just to confirm before I order, Z32 conversion lines WILL work on STI calipers, correct? They look different to me.
Or would it be safer to just order STI SS lines instead? So many different set-ups in here.....

Not to totally bring a thread back form the dead.
My friend has a set of Evo 9 MR Brembos thats I'm going to get from him I'd like to run these all around however, I don't really feel like doing the rear drum conversion for the e-brake so I may just do the fronts On the stock brake master cyclinder with the Evo Brembo calipers, rotors, brake pads, and 300zx conversion brakelines, and Evo caliper bracket, will the calipers be brake biased and not function properly or should I upgrade to the 300zx TT brake master cyclinder? and to just clear it up, to do the Evo Brembo calipers you need Evo Brembo front calipers Evo brake rotors Evo brake pads 240sx-300zx conversion brakelines caliper bracket for 240sx-Evo Brembo calipers (if you are only doing the front brakes) correct? |

Not to piss anyone off or whatever, I just didn't want to create a new unnecessary thread.
If I did the front upgrade with either STi or Evo brakes, and the rear with a complete Z32 swap, and of course Z32 BMC, would that work without a problem? How much of a difference is there in rear Brembos vs the rear Z32 brake calipers. Since I'd have to use the Z32 rotor anyway, because I would like to keep my ebrake. Are both of the calipers the same in size? Thanks. |

Although I guess my question should have been, is there any noticeable difference between the Z32 and STi rear calipers? Because it would be much cheaper to just use the Z32 caliper for the rear, but if the STi one is a lot better, may as well upgrade to that. You have to use the Z32 rotor either way so the only factor that would effect anything is the caliper. |

Alternative option:
Modify Porsche Cayenne S caliper front 6pot/Rear 4 pot Ap racing rotors custom bracket custom bell/hat everything cost around $4700ish for 355mm front and 330mm rear (Brand new caliper, hardware, ferodo pads, CNC bracket, caliper machining..etc) These is the same set up I have with 380mm front and 345mm rear My buddy with 355mm rotors front that I got for him. |
