On my s13, I ran my Dmax hood without pins. All in all, I didn't drive it very much, but it always made the trek to and from the teack with 0 problems.

My FRP hood on my s14 didn't have a latch, so I had to use pins.

You should probably be fine since its vented, the air can escape and not cause absurd amounts of pressure on the underside.
