the projector lens is what gives the cutoff spectrum look...
Well i cant pass up this deal on these headlights for the 03-06 cadillac cts. I think theyre halogen projectors, but the way i see it, since its my first retrofit, i dont wanna waste a lot more money and possibly screw up... if it works right and i feel i could do it again, time for round 2... HID style. Besides, the headlights are 20 bucks each plus shipping... lol what a bargain

I just had a brilliant idea. Let me know what you guys think.
Since ive been working with fiberglass lately, Ive come up with all sorts of different things to use on my car... I was thinking about those useless grilles under our blinkers... I was thinking of making a housing to put projectors in there as fog lights... wouldnt that be pimp?

^Yeah i was thinking of somthing like your idea. But for a pignoise.
![]() I was thinking of adding a H3 bulb in the white/clear part of the turn signal housing and use them as fogs. But the makes too much heat.. Do projectors cause as much heat? |

The end of the bulb seems to have the cutoff built in and would not require a retrofit. And comes in factory color temps.http://hipposleek.co.jp/d-supass/hid.html

Damn. How big is the light? Almost looks like you should've just removed the grill, it's practically all cut away already.

lol.. its a stock grille, im guessing for the smic on the JDM models... theres nothing behind the grille, which is why i thought it was a prime candidate for the conversion...

Thanks for the info. I couldnt remember the formula...
17amps? hm... shouldnt be too ahrd to find a relay for that. I wonder if fiberglass will hold up to the head produced by 100 watt bulbs...

I was thinking the bulb will melt the fiberglass. But dosnt the projector housing it self keep the heat inside itself good enough to where it wont melt the fiberglass housing? Or the projector housing gets hot as hell also.

it's the projectors. i'lll post pics of my setup in a lil bit.
acura mdx projectors in an ebay clear conversion, with audi a6 3rd generation hella ballasts. BTW you don't need a highbeam depending on where you drive. i do just fine without it.

hmm.. i was thinking about attaching, say, a 4x6 headlight housing, trimmed down to fit the chuki bumper grilles... to give a neat chrome housing that wont melt, and would make ventillation a lot easier... i have plans for that.. what do you guys think? also, i thought about motorcycle headlights, or round headlights in general, being trimmed down to fit the bumper grilles... collaboration FTW...
DAMN another good idea hit me... trim my bumper to accept a 4x6 headlight, and retro it for projectors... wow, im on fire today

I think a cooler idea would be, buy some canadian running lights and convert them into turn signals. And retrofit some projectors where the turn signal orginaly was. Like RX-7s.

...thought avout that, but the pastic housings that thr turn signals use arent nearly strong enough to withstand the heat produced by lights of any kind...
By the way, my friend came over with his 92 chevy van, which ahs 4x6 lights, and they fit nearly perfectly into the chuki bumper grilles... looks like my candidate for the conversion!
