so, what is it that gives it away? I assume the average cop would look under the hood and see a nissan engine and say "oh, a nissan engine" whereas if they saw some nice shiny chrome or other nifty devices they'd write you up for illegal engine modifications. So do these cops actually check the manufacturer plates on the frame and engine? Or do they know the difference between SRs, RBs, and KAs?

yea yea. there is a book.. i know because i have 3000 dollors and fix it tickets because i sold my car right after i got the tickets.... i got tickets for my rollcage and steering wheel and about 10 more tickets of other sh*T that i had no ideal what they where talking about.. they really dont pull that book out inless your really doing somthing wrong.. if you driving and just get pulled over for loud exhaust.. there not going to pull that book out.. there to lazy..lol

i was in a big bust with about 50 cars drifting in a lot.. about 10 cars got away.. everyone else had to pop there hoods and every 240sx there had sr20's and was even a real rhd silvia.. and everyone got fit it tickets for sickers on windows and exhaust and things like that.. i was last one.. and i was black so yea they pulled out the book and fucked me over so bad they ended up towing my car.... and everyone else got away with fix it tickits and i was the only one with a sr=( and i had to walk home at 2am took me like 3hours or more... what funny is the real silvia only got a ticket for a air filter lol and it had 3 in exhaust.

Ya i am also scared, and somewhat ready to get popped. I have people lined up to sell my, running strong btw, rb25. I love the motor, my rims, and everything. Yet i also know i will get popped sooner or later. Shit look at the damn car...

as for ADVICE : My moms works at the twin towers (sheriff dept), and she even told me the things the police knows now a days. I have read the advice some of you gave, they are good for the most part. I thought of just paying it, yet you cant now. I thought of the whole transfering title, and many other things, in the end you wont be happy. Youll have to get the RB out, either way... if you want to keep on driving your car regularly.

IF I GET POPPED, i figured, might as well go out w/ a bang and have all the damn illegal shit i can have. WHY? STUPID? Ya well, when you know youll be popped, and you cant do anything about it, i might as well keep my head up HIGH ahaha and go out w/ a bank.

I have a friend that owns a SR20 Professional shop, he can swap out your RB, and install the KA in your car. Then its up to you if you want it back in your car.

As for the visual / smog check with your KA installed, as long as you pass smog, and have BEFORE / AFTER Pics of your motor bay, you should be fine. They will inspect your vehicle in and out, but in the end, as long as it passes smog, and is the right motor for the car, youll be fine. To kind of kiss ass to the REF, get a test only smog place SMOG your car before you go to the REF. So you can show the ref you did what you can to try to return what you did wrong (tho its not wrong i think to try to fix up cars, just like how BIKERS and TRUCKERS fix up there shit, and they dont get in trouble!)

umi thin ki would go the route of the hybrid eg advice. you may have showed evidence of proof of insurance and liscence but it doesnt matter cause if you sold the car to one of your friends, chance are the paper work would be written, and like he said just say he didnt pay for all of it, and you were still driving it till he payed the rest, that is why you still had it insured. like he said the stae just wants your money. so give them a little. its all just paper work . i think its alot easier than swappin the ka.

ooohhhhh if you want to fight it here i some advice. to make your odds of the cop not showin, just keep resceaduling your court date. like wait till the day before you are suppoesd to go to court and than cal in and say your feeling ill or theres a family emergency, whatever it is, the cop will keep thinking your not goin to show up and its a waste of his time, if you change the date 3 or four times. i got this advice from a friend who is a cop. it works, he did it twice befroe he was a cop, and he says he recommends it to friends who are going to fight the po po. so theres another option. dont hate just an idea. good luck again.
