But no i dont take any offense at all. I know my car needs more work for it to be complete. and honestly its part reason why i chose to sell it now. I'm to the point where if i sell now i get most my money back. whereas if i keep dumping money into it, ill still most likely sell about the same amount. Maybe about 1000+ for the front to be perfect, plus another grand for paint and toss in maybe another 500 for misc things and im already down 2500. It'll still probably only sell at 7k realistically. Thanks guys for the opinions. This guy is pretty much on my nuts about trading for my car, and after weighing out the benefits and bads of the trade i think i'm going to go for it.

Most of my decision is based off monetary value too though.

Go with the IS300 (mt) you will not regret it. The 240sx handles like a boat compared to the IS300, its one of the most reliable cars around, not to mention the tuning potential it has (2jz). Oh btw the IS300 is not really a "luxary car" by anymeans, its a sports saloon hence "intelligent sport" (is). If anything just buy another 240sx as a winter car for like $1200 on craigslist haha.

For example I gave 7K for my current IS its a auto, clean title, original perfect paint and interior. Recently had water pump, belts ext changed at the dealership. Well worth it.

5apd swap with a R154, is goin to run you over 2K easily. If you wanted a IS, get a 05 up. So you get the factory navigation the center arm rest ext. I wish I would have waited and gotten a 05 up. The 03 is nice but sucks I have no nav or center arm rest.


Keep your 240, get the front properly aligned and centered, paint it. And be done. That IS just looks like its been ragged on.

Yeah he totally shouldn't trade up to a 4 door luxury sedan, because it's missing an arm rest and doesn't have an outdated navigation system.

Look at atlanta craigslist. There 5speeds everywhere for cheap. A yellow (rare as fuck) 5speed with 130k was on there for like 6k. There nothing special.

And the NA 2jz's only sound good, thats it. Try finding a sportcross if you want one.

Shit, I tried to find one of these for the longest when i got back to the states last summer. Wanted a wagon for the wife and we were driving cross country with my dog in the back. Only one I found was in Sacramento with over 250k on the odometer. Definitely hard to find and the few out there, folks wants to hold on to them. I ended up picking up an 2003 E46 325 wagon with less than 80k miles on it for $7k

Stfu and troll else where I gave the op examples of a auto-manual swap if he indeed passed up the offer on the table so he knew a price if he got a auto later down the road. Atleast my post was relevant to the thread unlike yours.

It isn't the fact they have a old navigation system or a arm rest. The 05's and up are nicer interior wise, and have a few nicer/better options.
