ahh i figured out why what i was going by had the cam rotated only 3 teeth. the other cam was rotated 1 tooth clockwise, so they were 4 teeth apart, just the chain was off by one tooth...

thanks orion, you prolly saved me a headache and a few hours of troubleshooting

i thought about a lot of stuff. a six week swap when i told the lady who's house i'm doing it at it would be a week wasn't one of the things i thought of.
