you can find a t5 with a chevy bellhousing pattern but a t5 will last approximately 5 minutes behind any LS motor, 225hp 5.0's break them pretty easily, save your money for a t56 or use a decent automatic

Link to product information
Hey there ScoobySteve33,
My name is Blane and I work at Holley. We used my 240sx as the development chassis for our mount system and exhaust products. Here are links to the product pages for our kits: Mount kit:Holley Performance Products Nissan (S14 only) LS Engine Swap Mount Kit 12654HKR Here is a photo of the LS2 in my car mounted with our stainless headers and s14 mount kit: Headers: Stainless: Holley Performance Products Nissan 240SX S13/S14 LS Stainless Steel Engine Swap Headers 8101-7HKR Silver Ceramic Coated: Holley Performance Products Nissan 240SX S13/S14 LS Silver Ceramic Mild Steel Engine Swap Headers 8101-1HKR Black Ceramic Coated:Holley Performance Products Nissan 240SX S13/S14 LS Black Ceramic Mild Steel Engine Swap Headers 8101-3HKR Black Painted:Holley Performance Products Nissan 240SX S13/S14 LS Black Painted Mild Steel Engine Swap Headers 8101HKR We have released an S14 kit at this point and are releasing an S13 kit with a different part # here shortly. Initially we designed the kit as one part # for both chassis. We encountered a problem however after production was finalized when we noticed that the S13 chassis that we used to test fit our kit was outfitted with an S14 subframe. Long story short, we have an S13 here in the shop test fitting our revised mounting system for that chassis and will have it available here very shortly (3-4 weeks est.). It's important to note that headers are not affected by this change whatsoever. Both kits are T56 specific and cannot accept 4L60E or 4L80E (but then again, why would you want that in the first place???). S13 crossmember: S14 crossmember: I'm not trying to advertise on here, but merely trying to get the information out about these parts for those interested. |

I've been doing a good amount of research on slamming my carbed roller rocker 350 into an s13, and I still have a few questions that I wasn't able to find a direct asnwer to.
1. What is a suitable rear differential to use for 350 pushing about 375 hp? 2. Who sells a motor mount kit (if anyone), or should I just fab them myself? 3. If I were to use a beefed up T5, would I have to cut/hammer out my tranny tunnel or firewall? Thanks in advance for any help. |

Picked up a tr6060 for an awesome deal. Came with the shifter, slave, clutch, flywheel, hydraulic line, etc. Its from a 2010 camaro. Will this shifter assembly line up correctly, or is there a different one I should be looking for? Sorry if this was mentioned already, I just couldn't find more than a few posts saying that it was a good tranny, but not much about the shifter

Im not sure that a 6060 has been put in, im sure it has those being close to a t56 so mabie the tail section will work from a t56 or the shifter assembly rather or vise versa, a t56 u want a f body shifter set up, I think a tr6060 is more vehicle specific where a t56 is very generic being use buy the big 3, im just assuming a 6060 would be a bit more of a pain or there be more info on it, you want to get on LS1 tech and silvia v8, 2 great sites that helped me with my LS swap. good luck keep it posted if u use the tr6060 |

I have not seen the TR trans into an S chassis so far. Might be worth it to sell it for a profit and then switch over to a T56. There a few T56 for sale on LS right now.

Those who have done this swap are you using anything special for the fuel system? Or is it as simple as running an adj. FPR and an upgraded pump? Also I'm looking into doing a 5.3L into an s14 and i read that you have to use different front accessories on the motor. Is this true? Sorry if those are all newb questions.

having some problems getting my swap started Car: 96 240sx Engine: 1999 Camaro SS LS1 Tranny: t-56 PCM/harness: OEM So i have completed my entire swap, and cant get fuel or spark while the engine is turning over. Its a track car so i just am running a switch panel switch for the starter switch for the fuel pump power to the (2) 12v PCM wire (orange) power to the IGN PCM wire (pink) Ground the (4) ground wires (black) Flashed the PCM for Security theft (VATS), EGR and EVAP Only codes i'm reading is ERG and EVAP sensors. Otherwise everything else is plugged and should be working. Crank, MAf, Mas, o2, etc all getting voltages. Engine is also well grounded The coils are not getting power on any wire, all four are readying grounds (some pulsing) while engine turning over. Also the injectors are only getting a ground pulse signal, no power on the other wire. Why is the PCM not sending power to the Coils/Injectors? Did i forget to wire something up?

N/m on my last post, we just jumped a 12v power source off a relay to the wire that splices into all the injectors and coils, and boom it runs.

Looking very hard into doing the ls swap, plan is to swap in a 5.3,but have ran into a 6.0 truck motor worth the buy. My question is wiring. I have been planning on buying the wiring specialties harness, problem is the only option available is for the gto/fbody. What exactly are my options from here if I were to go with the iron block 6.0? Can't quite find where it has been covered but I'm sure it has. Thanks!

Look into getting a complete standalone. Psi makes them where all you need is to supply switched 12v and hook up the fuel pump and your done. Completely self contained and seperated from the oem fuse box. Everything unnecessary is already deleted and can be customized for injector types, 3 or 5 pin maf etc. Mine was $500 shipped.
5.3 or 6.0 doesn't matter as far as wiring goes. What matters is the generation of the actual motor. Gen 3 catherdral head ls1, lm7, Lq4/9, ls6 all are 24x crank sensor motors and harnesses will be the same for these and are red/blue pcm plug motors. Gen 4 motors with rectangular heads will be ls3, ls7 and the truck variants that have 58x crank sensors drive by wire throttle bodies cam sensors in the front etc and they have small pcms. There are also hybrids like late gen 3's, ls2 and some ctsv ls6's (I think) that are drive by wire but have 24x crank sensors, diffrent injector clips and blue/green pcm plugs. Plus you can also put gen 4 heads on gen 3 blocks.......it gets confusing as hell. Bottom line is displacement doesnt matter the block generation and sensor setup do. For simplicity stick with any 24x block with a cam sensor next to the oil pressure sensor at the back of the motor. Run a drive by cable throttle body and you can pic any displacement you want 5.3,5.7,6.0. The fbody harness will work.fine for this. |

Me and my buddy are planning on putting an iron 6.0 into his 84 monte carlo. I plan on doing the same for my 240. I was reading about somebody swapping the vortec motor into the monte carlo and they had to swap the front accessories like needed in a 240. The guy said he found out that all iron block ls motors will not allow fbody, gto, corvette, etc. accessories to bolt on to the motors because they are missing a hole that needs to be tapped and drilled. I looked into it and I did see one other forum where a guy mentioned the hole missing for a certain bracket and said EVERY aluminum block has the whole predrilled but not all iron ones do. Can anyone confirm this?
Also since everyone is using ls6 intake manifolds if anybody is selling an ls1 intake for next to nothing id buy it. It'll be suitable to get the car running and driving and right now there is one for $70 on ebay. Any info is greatly appreciated. Just spent all night reading the entire forum only to realize a whole bunch is ka vs ls weight and ford vs chevy. Except for the last couple informative pages. |
