Thanks. I used chemical stripper, and a wire brush to strip the old stuff off and get it back down to bare aluminum. I cleaned it with wax and grease remover, then did 3 coats of VHT wrinkle black and baked at 350 degrees. Turned out rather well imo.

Its a technique called hydrodipping. Pretty cool actually, go check out some videos on Youtube.

Paint newb here. Can anyone help me and share how they prep'd their valve cover?
Also, what you used to remove the paint off the Nissan letters. Like this...

My intake manifold powdercoated.

My valve covers are at a local tattoo shop. They are currently flat white and getting a treatment of japanese style tattoos all over them before they get cleared. the timing covers and coil pack covers are going to be a metallic purple.
