I can actually see that, although it would be a huge waste of money IMO. They can also reveal the next Maxima as well. The rumormill calls for "two surprise" reveals.

Either way, it should be interesting to see what Nissan will go with.

Anyways to get back on topic.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpYuWNxZx8c

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

The car reviewed is the Euro model with the 1.5L motor and weighing 2200 pounds. Still no word on the weight for the U.S. model with the 2.0L, but we know it will have 155hp / 148 lb-ft torque.

Not bad Mazda. Not bad.

Second, the GC earned its hate. The original car was very underpowered. The 210hp engine blows. It's also a micro-turbo meaning you'll be dumping $15k into the car to make it hot.

Turbo, FMIC, exhaust, manifold, tune, injectors....

The wheels are awful, the body work questionable - so forth. Yes there are some hot cars, but they have $15k into them.

The updated 270hp car is on the money. Better interior and power that the car should have started with - except they fucked the fucking front end fucking up. It's hideous and miss matched a Veloster front on a RSX with droopy windows : thanks Hyundai. Assholes.

The Kia Stinger was lauded here for everything it promised. I don't think the GCs hate has anything to do with the badge, it's simply the delivery.
Everybody is certainly entitled to their own opinion, and while I disagree I can respect yours.

The 280z receives plenty of criticism here, in fact many Z car people generally feel the best Z's were prior to 280z, and the Z33. So I digress on the z33 getting a lot of criticism, it is a nice car by most opinions.

I also disagree on taking 15k to make the Genesis nice, meh. I hosted plenty of meets, saw plenty of nice cars with only a few K. The turbo from 2010-2012 model were easy to replace and upgrade, past that - no. I also agree the "updated" face wasn't as nice, too Hyundai-ish.

Also, not all the wheels are awful, 2010 - 2012 R-Spec wheels looked nice... IMO of course.

EDIT: Pic #2 to show off a bit of concavity...

Stinger was 4-door RWD, so it kind of was a different scope - but fair point, I will say.

Better edit that again... The Stinger was the 2 door Silvia replacement from Kia we had all been praying for. Too bad its dead now. R.I.P. Gt4 Stinger.

I thought it was a hidden 4 door? Am I confusing something else? I remember the hype and the pictures, just thought it was a hidden 4 door...

Everything FR is a "silvia" replacement, LOL.

Edit: was getting this confused...

This one would make us forget the Mustang. 2800lbs with the Genesis coupe's 2.0t & 6spd trans pushing 315hp for about the same price as the FRZ...

Yes, that is the specific picture I think of when people mention the Stinger, just forgot the door number lol.

It does look amazing though, I would be ok with the Gen being retired for that.

Who cares about new cars. People are giving away RX-8's on Craigslist. And those things still look more modern than many brand new vehicles.

I could have bought one off a chick I worked with for $4,500 3 years ago.

Instead of teasing a 510 successor that half of Nissan's fans hated anyway, they should revive the Mid4 concept. This could have easily been the best car that Nissan ever built. Instead, Honda got to reap the rewards after they bought it.

Well it was a nice commercial with some cool cars but all they had to sell was a maxima. It is cool to see a major company focus on dads.

Ya I was a little disappointed when Race Dad showed up to pick up his son in a fucking Maxima. It's like he races GTR and Le Mans cars he could have at least shown up in a Z. It's clear Nissan NA wants their cake and eat it too. I.E. Let's make a commercial showing Nissans racing heritage to make ourselves legit but try to sell the family car because we don't really want to sell Sports cars in the U.S.

LM Racer did look pretty cool and I suspected they would show the Maxima. Unlike the Z, we've seen a concept car and a few prototypes floating around. Still, I was hoping Nissan would surprise us and reveal the new Z!

One thing I'm a bit concerned about is the design language on the Maxima. Not only because it's questionable, but I see a few of these cues trickling down to the new Z.

Off-topic: The SB commercials were super lame (except for the Liam Nesson ad).

It sort of looks like they were trying to give it a hint of the "Bionic Cheetah" look that happened with the original Infiniti FX, but it went horribly wrong.

Love how Nissan showed it's roots in sport cars and beautiful, cunning design...

Only to give the Maxima "car" a Super Bowl spot.

Way to totally win...
Nothing at all. Fail.

Glass transmissions, questionable reliability, and no heart at all - great time to buy a Nissan!

Ford has really stepped it up these past few years. New Focus RS revealed and is coming to the US. Powers the front and REAR wheels (just making this post thread-related. Sorry it's not a coupe, haha)

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-and-info-news

Mustang, GT, Focus RS are all wins in my book. Even if you hate Ford, this is making other brands play catch-up to offer some serious competition now. Win-win for enthusiasts in the near future. Hopefully.
