Recently learned that World War Z is being produced by Brad Pitt's "Plan B" company.

Rumored to release next year some time.

That's been going 'round the net for a long time. I don't have a problem with his company doing it. I for one like high profile zombie flicks.

I'm not too critical when it comes to plot in zombie films (or even film in general).
Give me some good gore/special effects, a sense of survival horror, even some cheesy humor, and I'll be happy.

I think the guys who made the film wanted to pull off a zombie comedy in the vein of Dead Alive, but more subdued
Dead Snow tries to be slapstick funny w/ some gore, but for whatever reason the humor doesn't work & neither are the stunts terrifying either.

The whole film just feels silly.
It's not horrible, just really kinda mediocre.
It's like some B-zombie flick you would rent cause you had nothing better to do.

Technically it's nothing special.
If you expect to be some technical masterpiece in cinematography, you might be let down.
Special effects & gore are just campy and not convincing at all.
I did LOL at one scene when some fat shlub's brains just plopped on the floor like jell-o, but that's probably the only time I found it funny.

There was this other newer Nazi Zombie flick I saw some time ago, Outpost I think its called.
Took place in some eastern european bunker modern day.
Technically it was well shot, & the idea behind it was great.
Execution was lousy.
Poorly sequenced action, lack of good gore (zombies don't even eat ppl), and terrible pacing made it painful to watch.

This year just hasn't been kind to zombies so far.

Absurd and corny along what you'd expect from a cult B-japanese flick,

Just watched dead snow the other night..seems more like a evil dead than zombie movie. Not too bad though..the worst was platoon of the dead, I couldn't bare to watch more than 20 mins of it.

I like the idea i heard better anyways. Instead of just making it a 2-3hr movie with said "big actor". They should make it an HBO show and have a few seasons of it.

Anyone that has read the books knows it would probably end up better that way anyways...
