its not the lens! just put that camera in manual, set the white balance and start shooting along with playing with the setting... the talent will come with experience and time.

The lens I use is a $100 early 90's Nikon AF 70-210mm push pull model on a old Nikon D50 body. My lens is probably over 10 years older than yours...

It was in Manual, It was my first time shooting willow and my lens lacks sharpness
and the focal length is too small for balcony i couldnt reach the initiation on a kit lens with a wimpy 70mm max zoom!

I shoot on a lens i bought on ebay for $80
its a 70mm to 300mm, ALL manual.
I have to focus with a DOF of about 3 feet max.
you can see the front adn rear of the car are soft and the helmets are sharp.
(old school JXN and Robbie driving, not schreach, lol)

Its just practice man, trust me.

this weekend was superrrr legiitttt i had so much fun. 626 is ALWAYS the place to be..soooo funnn it's just like a huge block party at balcony.
