It boggles my mind that people honestly think S13s and S14s have higher quality interiors than a SN/NE. I get not liking twin cockpit, but they are solid, functional and hold up very well. It's also "timeless" in that it goes back 40 years.

I think I was. I would love to drive a new edge cobra though honestly.

Also I wouldn't say that the interior quality is better, but the interior design is undeniably better in the S chassis cars. The SN/NE dash looks like its made from silly putty and was left in the sun.

Agreed. I cannot fathom it. The cheap plastic parts in the S-chassis combined with the lack of , like an oil pressure gauge, a temp gauge that reads more than cold-operating temp-blown head gasket somehow is timeless.

According to Motor Trend we're all severely overlooking the Camaro. I slightly prefer the looks of the current Mustang over the Camaro, but it's hard to argue against the performance value. The judges are absolutely gushing about the handling and performance.

I wouldn't trust motor trend at all in their evaluations of Chevy products.

Their Chevy bias is well known, as they constantly whore themselves out to Chevy in their competitions.

All the mags have their biases (I canceled my C&D subscription 10 years ago (when you were 9 apparently lol) because of how blatant their biased towards the 3 Series was), take it for what its worth.

Ya but honestly everything said about the E36 and E46 was pretty spot on. In fact I consider the E36 to be BMW's pinnacle, though the E46 was very close as well.
My M3 just allows me,or actually begs me to make moves most people would not consider. Let alone being able to execute and allows me to get away with it everytime.
The car just does inspire so much confidence when driving combined with ability to do it it's crazy.
Not to discount my old S13 but the refinement level is a step up.

With all that said much is my disgust with Nissan. As they had that ability to build that type of entry level or mid level car and still have not done it.

Car of the Year is purely based on who paid for it.

This is an undisputed truth and is well documented. Companies submit why they want to be car of the year, why the think they deserve it and most importantly....

What they will do with the award and how they will help bring awareness to Motor Trend and the Award.

Every time you see "X-car, the prestigious Motor Trend COTY winner" in a commercial is free advertising for Motor Trend.

Another stupid trick with COTY is that it has to be new.

Mustang S550 is not new for 2016, nor is the Charger, WRX or anything. Really the Camaro is the only new for 2016 car I can think of....
