From my experience thru email, it seems like vrwheels means business, if they feel they're getting bs'ed around, then sometimes they won't respond. Still would go with them though because they always come thru in the end.
Got these 4.5in lips in a week and I'm in Japan. These are for my kf's I'm attempting to rebuild. ![]() |

I'm looking for a pair of 3.5" 39 hole 17" lips for ABC exclusives. Can anyone point me in the right direction? This is my first set of 3 piece wheels

I have a stupid question that I couldnt find the answer to on google. I just bought these 17" LMGT2 2 Piece wheels. Can I buy new barrels lips and hardware to turn them into wider 3 piece wheels?
![]() They are 17x8 +35 so I was thinking they would fit pretty good on my stock s13 rear If I added 1in to the lip. |

^^ You can rebarrel 2 piece wheel either by getting brand new barrels (which is kindof expensive) or some places can cut the existing ones and welding. Im pretty sure Vrwheels and Wheelflip can do either way.
If you extend the lip by 1 " the new size would be 17x9 +22 and if you did 1.5" then you'd be at 17x9.5 +16. Both would be pretty sweet on a stock body 240. |

I just ordered some new lips last week from VR Wheels for my Blitz 03's. They answered my emails & phone calls immediately & gave me all the information i needed/wanted & even told me it would be a 1.5 week turnaround time which is awesome.
I WAS going to order from Wheel Flip initially but they either very seldom replied to my emails & at one point i called & they advised "we'll call you back with availability & pricing" and i never received a call. After calling them a few times for like 3 days without even anyone answering i decided to not spend my money with them. Next up i'll be looking into possibly ordering new hardware for my wheels since i will not be rewelding the lip/barrel's like Blitz did from the factory. |

Are your Blitz 17" and high disk?
I've got a set of 18's but want to go 17/18 lol finding a pair of 17x9 +22 would be ideal I ordered hardware from Wheel Flip though. Came in a reasonable amount of time... My lips took forever though |

What do you guys use to seal between the barrel and lip on three piece wheels? My Volks have a rubber seal of some sort, but I need to replace one of the lips and I don't know what kind of seal to use? Silicone doesn't seem proper.

The front faces are hi & the rears are low so thankfully i have faces that clear my z32 calipers. & yes, they are 17's. After the rebuild they should effectively be 17x9.25 + 19 & 17x10.5 + 19 Quote:

Damn. I've found some 17x8 +41 a guy wants to trade but that will make them a little higher offset than I want. I need high disk to clear LS400 calipers on my IS300...
I used the same sealant from lowes. |

When I bought these the seller told me that they were all low disc & i was disappointed i was going to have to run a spacer but once i received them I noticed they were high disc fronts & i was ecstatic.
My fronts are originally 17x8+ 35 |

On another note, anyone have any idea's on refinishing my center caps? I'm going full polish on my wheels and don't want the center cap's to take away from the new look.

At this point, is best to cut directly in the middle or best to cut the lip off? I am only asking because I found a place to pick up lips for a good price and want to rebarrel my vskf and minervas ![]() any tip on separating the lip would be awesome!

I've got some questions since this is the first time im rebuilding a set of wheels.
1st - I just got all new hardware for my rims, going from M6 to M7 hardware on my Blitz'. What would you suggest I torque everything down to? I've seen people say anywhere from 17-20 ft lbs. 2nd - When applying the silicon should I torque the hardware down 100% then apply or torque down partial, apply, let dry then retorque down to final ft lbs? I've seen people suggest both ways. |

Also a tip for sealing them, put 2 lines of tape around the seal, seal them, then pull the tape off before its dry and they will come out super clean |

Heres what I did when I sealed my wheels.
1. Snug the bolts so lips and barrels are loose or have any gap 2. Apply tape around the bead 3. Lay bead and smooth it with something or your finger, make sure there are no air bubbles 4. Remove tape 5. Torque bolts to spec 6. Let in cure for 24hrs |
