Shhhhh Reese... You too anime guy that i can't remember your name. Have you heard of the concept of fun? does that make any sense to you? oh, and getting paid for making a show while doing it? Seems too logical, must not make sense to your generation.
Hmmm, make something cool and shitloads of fun or build a s15 track car like sooooooooo many other people.. Yeah makes sense Reese. Sorry . And anyways, it was a parts car. Sold down to the shell to help fund everything. Oh no, more logic, must make too much sense for the small E-Peen convention that happens to be going on in this thread. I know content is getting scarce, but come on people, do some digging and post something worthwhile in this thread before it gets to rock bottom garbage thread status. Quote:

Other people's disdain for fun shit is entertaining nevertheless.

Meh, at least he's being honest with the condition. Asks $650, offer him $300. How much should it be, Free? It's at least $100 in scrap. |

I really hope for the sake of other drivers he does not do this. Its one thing if it was only going to kill him, but there is a great chance of others getting taken out by him.

Come on, man. Everyone knows you only post shit AFTER you buy it if it's something you're bidding on. That, and you KNOW Zilvia's BIGGEST fuckboy is trolling that fucking thread all the time. Okay, I'm curious about a couple of things. I'm not taking either side on the subject. This is not an attack on anyones views or meant to be condescending in any way.
From looking at it, it seems as though the thread bias is towards building nice clean cars, anything beatup and ugly sucks. I would say that makes up about 75% of the people posting (which should come as no shock based on the purpose of the thread) the other 25% come in to put their 2 cents in about how track cars are fun etc yet they're usually ill-informed or are the perfect example of the people this thread shames, thus negating their opinion entirely. My question is, out of the people in here who is of the opinion that any car that's not clean and all one color sucks, and would rather see a clean car drift like shit as opposed to a shit car doing well. How many of you, I especially would like to hear from the people with the incredibly clean cars, have had a beater track car before? Or any beater car that was actually fun to drive? Have you ever drifted before? If you did, what converted you into having a mint car that you're afraid to park closer than two spots away from someone with, or you spend your entire time driving avoiding scraping anything. I personally have never had that car. I've had some really clean well built cars, but nothing of the caliber of some of the stuff I see on here. So I don't know what it like to be in that boat. I am of the other opinion. I go to SEMA and I'm blown away at the caliber of some of the cars there, I'm impressed by the build quality etc, but I can only look at parked cars for so long. That's just me. I agree with the shame of the hoonibros. I agree with people actually properly building their cars, but I think there is a big generalization in this thread. I hate the hoonigan zip tied sticker bombed spray painted 240 as much as the next guy, but what I don't hate is a car that was all one color, was built purely to be driven, and is now smashed up and not repaired. Why? Because touching doors with someone, or being able to really push the car to it's limits and know it's okay if you go to far is a blast. They get mechanically repaired, but cosmetically, why? If your goal is to go out and have a blast driving, what does it matter? Now to reiterate, people that build shitpiles because they can get away with it being trendy whole heatedly deserve any flak they receive, but that is entirely different than having a track only car that's beat up, but gets used, and is a learning tool to find the limits.

Yeah, actually. My cars are "clean" at least by track standards. I drift a bunch with others on track and manage not to allow my car to degrade into a massive fucking pile of shit. In the 9 years I've been on and off, somehow I have managed not to wall tap a car into oblivion or cover one with retard "life style" stickers from Zumiez. Believe it or not, both my Z and red coupe pictured below were technically track cars, I had dailys as well, still doesn't mean I set out to smash them up. The other two were actually DDs, which I manged to keep looking nice even though I was working part time jobs and in school. I don't see driving a shit car well as an excuse to having a shit car. Why not just have a nice car, and drive it well? Is it really that fucking hard? The real issue here that everyone tip toes around is that drifting is a pay to play activity (ie. breaking everything and literally burning money, *tires), but that the nature of the sport itself (any action sport) attracts a generally younger or less financially stable crowd. This leads to the revolving door of shitbox cars and random noobs you see at events. Some dickfart gets it in is mind that he's the next hot shit, hocks his honda or wheeler, limps his $2000 oil queefing smelly 5 color CL special to the track, fucks it up more, puts it back on CL at the end of the season, and the fucking cycle continues. I'm not saying that they should leave, or its not there right to be here, by all means, do whatever the fuck you want. What I am saying, is that those who actually give a fuck should take some pride in their car. Take the time to save up money and put it together correctly and cleanly. Also, if you DGAF Hoonigan brah, don't get buttmad when people call your car for what it is. A heaping, stinking, pile of shit chassis. While this may be only 25% of the field any given day, it is enough to piss me off as I've watched it get worse progressively over the years. I really do blame the instant gratification crowd and shitty lifestyle branding like Hoonigan. Quote:
From my personal perspective: image. Drifting should be about shiney cool looking cars looking rad while doing dope shit. Its not fun to watch a bunch of scrap metal bang around a track. Who fucking cares. It's not exciting to watch without the risk. Plus, it just gives the community as a whole a bad image when some asshole has a windshield banner that says "s13pussyslayergang" or some stupid shit. No joke there is some asshole with a flat black s12 at our local track with "Team Creampie" stenciled on the side. Fuck you dude. Fuck you right in the face. You're making us all look retarded. Again, if you really do love it, have some god damn respect for it. But, alas, in reality all one can really do is put on their blinders, try to ignore it, and lead by example. These are my past drift cars. I fully reserve the right to rip on whatever shitbox I feel like. Middle dark blue car Hope you enjoyed my answer. If your going to post a wall of text like that which no one will likely read, please at least accompany it with some OT shit. OT:
