The difference is real vs replica quality, and how much it costs new. I'm not paying $350 for a $300 seat, but I would pay $350 for a $1000 seat. If you read what I wrote I was interested in the seat because it was a "real" seat for $350, not because I'm a bride fanboy or whatever you are implying. I really don't give a shit either way, I'm sticking with my Sparco

OH MY GOD! Hand laid fiber glass in an Asia sweat shop.... Just like the knock offs.... Like I said, if you have the seat in your hand, and you can't tell if it's a knock off... Here's an actual Bride Reclinable being crash tested - |

Bride seats are just a glorified JDM fashion accessory for your car. I would never trust my life to a Bride seat, or any aftermarket Asian-made safety equipment for that matter. Just look at the Takata fiasco.
If you actually care about safety or an FIA certification, you are better off buying a Corbeau/Sparco/Momo/OMP seat. Not to mention all of them offer a cheap entry level seat at around 350$ new. |

OMP's stuff is freaking awesome. Last year I got some real time with a bunch of their products at VIR. A lot of the PCA guys run that stuff. If your also worried about history and that crap, they have a ton of it as well. http://www.ompracing.it/en_gb/our-history |

^ haven't you retreated to some hole in the ground with that shit yet
Brides are cool because they are obviously made by kawaii japanese girls, but that doesn't really necessitate a $900 price tag Also speaking of nice entry level seats, http://www.sparcousa.com/product/r100 These would be a pretty good setup if you aren't really interested in racing etc. I've been thinking about getting these cheap sparco reclinables lately, because my cars interior is super nice except for my original drivers seat, which has a mysterious black stain on it and is pretty worn Anybody running these? |

I've had fake and real seats. Once you've owned a real one and try a fake one you won't fuck with it.
If you have no frame of reference for a real one, a fake might seem the same but they're not.

Ugh, can we stop bitching? Brides look cool, and feel very good! If you're wanting a bucket for looks then buy one, if you're concerned about safety look for a fia approved seat, if you're worried about the safety of fia approved seats don't drive a car, just stay inside and lay in a fetal position.

On a less serious note as Corbic I'd like to see a comparison video of a similar crash with shit parts.

A. Link? B. Was it a bucket or recliner? Even Bride recliners suck balls and won't pass Euro standards. C. You sure it was the seat? Only such incident I recall was a EG rolled with a cage and buckets. The roof and cage gave some and broke the guys buddies neck cause it compressed his head down and he was harnessed in. D. Buckets, harnesses and cages really don't belong on the street because of the above. Bride Crash Test There's a reason these have never come OEM but Recaros have... |

b) was a bucket c) yep was the seat d) I agree to a point. I personally would feel a little safer in a well built padded cage, with a bucket seat, and properly mounted harnesses over riding stock with no air bags lol. just in case you didn't know those seats are super old sp3 recaros and bride brix seats, im pretty sure technology has advanced a bit since then. edit: there is also no concrete proof that those are legitimate products. |
