Hoolee shiet... Can they do that with a T25 too?

No, iirc your exhaust turbine wheel is smaller than gt28's. the smaller wheel isn't efficient enough to run the larger compressor wheel. something like that...

Well, I'm hoping to get some dyno time scheduled in the next few weeks.

Current setup:
Stock internal red top with new OEM gasket and ARP head studs
Cody Ace turbo manifold ceramic coated with tial mv-s
GTX2867R of course
PBM HMIC
Synchronic DV recirc'd
Base street tuning yesterday at just under 23psi

I still need to dial in the gain and set gain on the Profec 2, but it looked to be hitting 23psi right at 4000rpms. Judging by when the waste gate started to vent, I'm thinking I can reduce that by 200-300 rpms.

Once I know this set up is solid I will swap in the S3's.

Car doesn't feel all that fast until you watch the speedo move. The transition to boost feels similar to rolling into the power in my old G8 GT, but much harder. Very smooth power band.

Alright, so I've finally got my car driving and running again...still having some weird issues, see here for details (http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=568844)

But Im on S3 cams, JWT tune, and GTX2867R with .64 AR. It seems like I am not getting to 20psi until like 4300RPM or after...does that make sense? That seems more laggy than I was expecting. And its very peaky feeling, like no power at all until it snaps up to full boost...feels like a 2 stroke... Any ideas?

Rhetorical question? It makes sense because something is wrong, but is it normal, NO!

The next contestant to prove the ability of the gtx2867r is?

If undesirable results are proof, then yes! But we're looking for that underdog that doesn't have to run 25-30psi to break 400whp😀

Did you ever run that 1.9bar boost?
Ever ask yourself, why so much boost?
just curious...

Hey guys! Just looking for opinions here if my results seem right to you guys.

Specs;
GTX2867R 3" Intake, Z32 MAF
Stock Mani w/ EWG 38mm, Cobb tuning IWG delete
740cc Inj.
Tomei Poncams 256/256
OEM Re-Ringed Piston Rings, Honed properly, clearances good (Piston to wall, piston ring gap, etc)
RS Enthalpy dyno tuned by Martin
RS Enthalpy Z32 Coilpacks, and modified ignitor/er
Apexi 1 piece 3" Exhaust
Cosworth HG, ARP Studs
Stock Intake Manifold
3" Intake piping, 2.75" Hotpipe
92 Octane

Results; 362whp/358 ft. lbs tq @ 20PSI
AFR 11.5-11.7

Dyno Sheet;

Dyno Video;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnI_dn0ruRQ

Tried removing exhaust to see if restriction was there, but same results, same goes with removing the suction filter.

Wanting to break 400whp, think 264/264 BC Cams & Ti Springs (of course), + Freddy Intake Mani will get me there?

That is what I normally see from the gtx2867, @19-20psi boost and running more boost is an option. The 260 cams are better suited for the engine and turbo on a street setup. I wouldn't recommend bc anything. Shifting the power to the right, does help a lot, but you still have room with your current cams.
If you do turn the boost up you can hit 400hp but that will be at the end of the power band and the torque would have probably dropped off significantly. Most gtx2867r users don't mind that.
Because they make a butt load of torque before 5krpm

HP looks pretty good. TQ drops off a lot though. Should extrude hone your stock intake.

I thought cody was able to hit 400whp with less than 20psi? I think the point of this turbo was all about hitting boost earlier, rather than the increase in power.

New Garrett GTX2867r

Are you running the t28rs style compressor housing or are you running the stock t28 style compressor housing? I'd say the intake is holding you back... How thick is your head gasket ever know what your compression is?

T25 2871r Exh Housing.
.64 A/R P# 430609-0230*

Cosworth 1.1mm thick, 87mm dia. Head Gasket.

150-155 all four cylinders.

Yeah I think I'll gain a little more by putting a freddy Intake mani on there. Still waiting for isis to release their new designed Intake mani for SR though.

In all honesty, you are right on track! assuming you gain 10hp for every psi of boost you would need to run approximately 24psi to make that 400hp.
This is the average!

If you have another dyno pull, we could get your exact hp to psi and make a better estimate.

Your hot pipe looks like its 3inches, that's the only odd thing i really see. maybe it's coated/wrapped or something.
The intake manifold will help some probably after 6500rpm, but you need tuning to extract more power at the same boost level.
#Don't be to disappointed.

i dont got another dyno chart. It was late and we had just cracked the 400 whp line. We just packed and got home.

The boost has since been altered to be a more stable 1,5-1,6 bar across the whole line. on the dyno we had a 0,8 bar WG spring. this has now been changed to 1,4 bar spring.

The cold pipe is a custom 3 inch.
Hot side from turbo is; 2" 90 degree from turbo, going in to ann 2,5" pipe going to IC.
Hot side from IC to IM is 3" all the way.
Every thing is painted black to keep ann OEM look.
Intercooler is just some cheap E-bay stuff with some minor modifications.

Sorry bout that, that whole post was for Johannes, I quoted you for a fact statement, his/her video shows his/her setup, but moves really quickly, and what I think I've seen might not be what is.
I did ask you, "galant_x" if you ever turned the boost up though? #860. thanks for replying.
