Got some more work done. Should have it completely stripped within a week. I will also start stripping the rest of the interior this weekend. Also got some BRIDE fabric for the door panel inserts. Waiting on a few more quotes for the Bride Stradia II with kevlar back to get the best price and should order those in the next week or so too.

I need to clean up and store all the extra parts now. Just waiting for the guy to come pull the windshield to pull the dash since I don't want to risk breaking the defrost section.

Got all the rubber seals and trim removed and intact! Those rubber door/t top seals are tricky and you could easily tear them. No longer available either! Hard to believe out of everything I removed, the only thing that broke were the tabs on the inner quarter window trim panels. I figured everything would break..

Glass guy just finished. Took him 2 hours but he did a great job and didn't damage any of the trim. Now I can pull the dash. I did find a really high quality carpet kit for the car which I hadn't expected. I hated the stock gross thin, sparse carpet that had bleached out to a blueish grey. I was only going to run the bare floor because of this but one of my best friends has convinced me to run carpet. He also told me about his experience with stock interiors.com. He said they literally are just like OE when you upgrade to the better carpeting option with the molded backing. The door panels will be custom done with leather, alcantara and the Bride fabric. Will have them add some custom red stitching to match the seats.

It's surprisingly easy to remove everything. I've taken a ton of photos and I like to put screws back in their places with stuff like this rather than bagging them. I'm pulling everything because I want to paint a bare engine bay so it's perfect. No masking at all.

Parts starting to come in. S14 240sx rear subframe,*MAX lower control arms and drop knuckles. The upper arms and toe rods arrive tomorrow. I ordered Ichiban 5 lug hubs/bearings as well. Soon, I will have the car towed to my friend who will weld in the subframe mounts. I found a rear roll cage for the Z31 and will have my friend weld in a second bar to create an X since I think the 1 sided bar will make my OCD go into overdrive. Then it's off to paint!

Thanks!
Ordered a Nitto stroker crank, H beam rods and upgraded rod bolts. Also ordered a stainless RB26 exhaust manifold flange since my headers are from the RB25 which oddly enough, has a slightly different bolt pattern. Now I can drop the block and crank off with the machinist and get in line so that by the time he is ready to start that, the custom piston specs will be ready. He can also port match the header flange while doing all the headwork.*Also ordered the forgot to order PSM traction arms for the rear suspension. |

Throttle bodies are done! Bored out to 49mm with all new seals, bearing and re-plated parts. Ordered Bride seat rails so that I can borrow a used Bride from Japanese Classics for the fabricator to start the roll cage in a week or two.

Enjuku racing RB Z31 oil pan arrived and the traction rods for the rear suspension are supposed to ship tomorrow. Then it will go to a local shop for the rear cage next week. Going for this design only with no diagonal bars down to the trans tunnel.
Lastly, I am having the stock intercooler recess on the valve cover welded up to mirror the other side. It's always bothered the hell out of me on RB's.* |

This is so cool! I have never seen this done but always hated the stock intercooler notch on the RB26 valve cover. The body guy made an aluminum cover and welded it in place.

Thanks!
Lotus saffron yellow is out (on the left) as it's too yellow. I am waiting for a Porsche 139 (the color of yellowbird) sprayout next. The safari gold 920 just seems a tad too brown to me but we will see when compared to the Porsche 139. Cam/valve covers came out perfect! I love it and think it will be one of the coolest little details about this build! |

Nitto stroker 2.8L crank, H beam rods, ROSS crank fire hall sensor kit, ARP head studs, ARP rod bolts and the RB26 exhaust flange. My traction rods arrived as well so I can get those in and tow the car to the shop that's doing the rear cage on Sunday.

I agree and have been wondering what I should do about it. First it was delayed by months. Then it got here looking like poorly welded sheet metal. I just sent them an email to ask about it too.

Was about 6 IPA's deep last night and decided to go ahead and order my seats from RHDJapan lol. I was going to order them eventually anyway and there is a 4-6 week lead time.
Bride Stradia II with Gradient fabric and carbon aramide/kevlar back. Shaves around 40 lbs off the weight of the car and the back will kind of match the exterior color of the car. |

I need your bank account. Influenced decisions are always truthful and genuinely what you want I find, just my sober state of mind says don’t be an idiot haha. I’m not a fan of Z’s at all but this is a sweet build!
