So I got the chassis all set and wanted to test it out even though the RB is still on stock turbo/injectors and making very little power but hey, at least I got to test it out a bit. Just waiting on my 1000cc injectors to arrive so I can put the Holset HX30 on and the Power FC and shoot for 400+ so I can be competitive.
Here's a couple test videos Last edited by ridesnowx4; 04-17-2012 at 07:30 AM.. |

Shame on me for forgetting my Zilvia friends with my updates
Had the car running last spring to test out the chassis and suspension / steering adjustments but couldn't do much with the lack of power... despite what most people think, fairly stock RB's aren't very fast when you've built a chassis around a 450+ whp goal. That plus it didn't help that I had 265/40/18's on the back either.. what was I thinking! Did some more fine tuning with the steering before ripping off the factory turbo to give it's much needed upgrade. Here was another test vid. I'll post more updates after lunch. - Bigger Turbo - new aero - Vinyl wrap designs with Factory83 |

Partnered up with Competition Clutch, got one of their twin disc 8" clutches with lightened flywheel. Significant response and free revving but not too light so I still get some load.
Finally, got rid of the factory T28/T3 and went with a Holset HE351 off of an 05 Cummins. I just need to pick up my 1000cc top feeds from Injector Dynamics before taking it down to UMS for some tunning. If the Turbo's too laggy, I have a GT3076r sitting in my garage. We shall see how she drives. Re-worked the front end a bit |

I've read good things about Competition Clutch as well, hoping to go that route when I do my RB swap. Everything's looking good man!

The new turbo is on there now and I'll know how much boost it'll set to once we dyno tune it. Right now it's got a Tial MVS wastegate with a 1bar spring. 1000cc injectors and Power FC. But it's untuned. |

You won't be dissapointed, it revs significantly faster than the heavy 22lb+ flywheel. |

I have constant fused 12v going to one side of the relay, ground on the other, then fused 12v switched (from the toggle switch for each component) on the top prong of the relay and then the bottom prong goes to the power side of the component in question. For example the fuel pump power wire. I know there's many other ways to wire up something, mine's a little over the top but it's what made sense to me... and i'm definitely not a wiring guru haha I don't have the patience. I'll stick to driving |

Updates!
Started on the vinyl wrap this past weekend and we're finishing it up this Saturday. Designed by Ian Dillon from Factory83 and Hoonigan Printed and installed by SkyPrintMedia And that's all I will post for now, I'll wait until I can get some high res photos of the car all finished. |

I'm currently working on re-wiring the car. Everything works BUT it's kind of a mess. lol The results of being rushed.
The RB kept running on 5 cylinders for a while and after thorough troubleshooting I figured out that one of the pins in the ECU connector was loose and not making good contact for cylinder #6. The ECU connector was so wallowed out that I had to order a new one and a bag full of pins/terminals. Luckily Chase Bays keeps em in stock! I'll update this again soon after I redo the wiring, the connector and get this damn thing tuned on the Power FC. |
