When I made this thread I expected a lot less bashing. I didn't expect my very first response to be bashing.

I'll update it if I feel like it.

Being a '13, wouldn't expect you to be aware of this, but the build section on Zilvia has not been around for too long. At one point the only builds that were on here were in the chat section, and they were mostly incredible, high-dollar builds. Zilvia at one point did not want to be cluttered up with every random user's build thread. You're getting bashed for 2 reasons, one because you came right out of the gate expecting it, and two because you're letting yourself react to the comments.

Oh but RB20s do suck.

You gonna learn T'day...

Seriously though, all joking aside, why did you buy the 20? Besides it being "cheap". What actually drew you to that decision. The decision to purchase the bastard child of the RB series.

Engine cost = Free ( I paid 1200$ for it, and ended up getting the money back )
Engine can rev to 8k+ rpm
2.0 and inline 6. the engine is just cool.
RB parts aren't easier to get than SR parts, but you don't have to run through a damn maze to find them.
My goals are about mid 400's
SR20 holds up more HP. I'd say this is completely debatable. How much HP can a SR20 hold on stock bottom end? How much can an RB20? How many people have even taken an RB20 past like 400hp?
You'll probably blow the piston rings around the same power on both of them, but I bet you without a single doubt that the RB20 rods will hold more power than the SR20
read the thread dude...i asked the same thing and he cleared it up....just sayin.

5. I read so much hate online about this engine, when 99% of people had zero experience. ( yes one of the factors of my choice was because everyone hated it )
6. swap is easier to do
7. With the right turbo and setup, I should be able to make as much power as it can handle.
8. I firmly do not believe that RB20's can't hold more than 400whp, I'd say with a good set of pistons It could hold more power than a RB25.
9. The head is better than a SR's
10. everyone says SR is better, but power for power my RB20 will have less rod load
11. 20+psi @ 8k RPM = awesome on any engine.
I just wanted to quote this so people would read it twice. A lot of the same reasons I went rb20

glad you are keeping up with the build. You might want to invest some cash into a forward facing manifold to eliminate the 39042930843290 ft of piping.

I was in the same debate with my skyline. (Stay 20 or go 25). I chose 20 because, like you, a great deal came along (700 with a forward facing manifold.) a 300-350 hp rb20 is easily done and is more than enough power for a 240.

Keep at it.

I think there is a lot of trolling/hating in this thread because the OP made a bunch of noobish threads and ruffled some feathers in the chat section when he first joined the site. Zilvia is not really a forum that is known to forgive and forget lol.

On topic, the actual build isn't too bad and he is making some decent progress. I for one don't mind the engine choice. I'm glad I don't have a rb20 anymore but I will say that mine was damn near bulletproof (other then a few ignition problems) and served me well when I was learning to drift, plus it sounded amazing lol. OP look into upgrading the coil packs at some point to avoid future issues. Also I recommend removing the coil pack cover if you plan on running the car hard since it traps heat and negatively affects the life of them. Just some tips based on my experience with the motor.

You will love the WS harness btw. Makes life so much easier and its nice to know that everything is new (and grounded better). I use one for every Nissan swap that I do even if it is just a simple SR swap.

Yeah I got tired of trying to do the wiring myself, my Relay wiring was all jacked up, my 02 sensor and maf wiring was completely hacked off.. I said screw it and dropped the 400$ on a legit harness.

I did make a few noob threads, I was a total nissan noob. but I have learned very quickly.. to think I bought this car mid january and knew absolutely nothing about nissans, and I can already swap timing belts on this bish in like 20 minutes.

My coils are all brand new Q45 coils. no old cracked up junk

I would remove the coil cover but it's just so god damn ugly missing it
