Self defense is one thing, but here in california we have the minor problem of excessive force laws. If some guy pulls a gun on me, I'm not allowed to kill him; I have to go through a number of other things first, where killing him is the last step in the process. It's a bitch. You have 3 underage drinkers coming at you, and you pull a pretty heavy weapon that would most likely leave these guys with broken bones or permenant damage. Some of you are actually retarded enough to suggest pulling a gun on them.

I don't know how many of you have a gun, or have been in a situation with a gun, but its not all gravy at that point. Guns have the possibility to make them calm down, but if these guys were angry drunks, it would have just further instigated them. You have 3 targets, 1 gun. They would have gotten the gun away from you, at which point both your girlfriend and yourself are dead, and your car is screwed.

Don't go looking for a fight to prove your tough, which is exactly what it sounds like you did. Most people don't automatically pull a weapon when 3 people walk in their general direction. Real tough guys don't need to prove their manhood.

I was reading this is then I realized that it's the same Adrian that I know which makes me think twice about people appearance. I mean he is a really nice guy and everyone gets along with him. So I would have to believe that if he thought that what he did was necessary at the time then that's the decision that he has to live with. Good thing only thing that got damage was his car and not him or his girlfriend. Things could've been alot worst off. I'm sure that the situation could've been handle better but I think it's a lesson learned.

thanks for the responses guys.... yeah I guess I learned a lesson, I'm just glad that nothing escaladed into anything serious. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, we (I) don't sit and think twice of what possible consequences could occur, I can easily say I acted upon instinct, and if you think thats retarded, then so be it. And to further clear things up, it happend in West Covina, not Long Beach (I have too many friends on my block in LB for this to happen). Also, for those saying that "oh they have my address and whatnots", don't forget I have their addresses as well.

I'm going to get an estimate on the damages and demand the appropriate ammount from their parents, and if worse comes to worse (they don't comply), I'm taking their asses to court (I already have an attourny in mind), something in which maybe even my gf might benifit from as well.

Settling out of court for the win. Tell them what you'll be suing for if they don't want to settle out of court. That ought to scare them.
