rear seats only thing takin out, to help noise and looks I carpeted over the bare metal and got this.

I believe that is the carpet material used to make sub boxes with, correct me if im wrong, just a thought...

exactly right. shits real cheap. I think it was like $12 for all the carpet and I had some left over. plus like $4 for the spray adhesive.

My dad fabbed up a rotiserie which made prepping and welding the underside seams easier.

yeah maybe, there are a few people that i know personally whom did this. that carpet stuff isnt expensive either.

edit: that guy /\ did a really good job on laying it down.

that stuff just doesnt lay down. It almost look vac bagged or molded.

Stripping the interior on my civic was the worst idea ever. The car felt cheap, after 3 years, I spent a thousand trying to get the interior back.

The plastic trim and the rear seat on the s14 weighs nothing compaired to the civic. leave that in. a year later it will get to you when you start buying expensive things for your car, but realise the interior looks like shit. But if your going to do it, go all out and at least use some dry ice and decent paint.

ANd the rear seat keeps the sound pressure levels high

With a serious cage like that you should cut out the rear deck to save weight. That cage braces the car well enough that the deck is doing almost nothing but adding weight.

it just hold speakers u can cut most of it out off the bat.

Thought the coupe deck is what keeps it a lil stiffer that the hatch which has no deck

not really
the important part isnt that deck, its the part under the window
the deck is just spot welded into place and removing it would be next tno difference
teh disadvantage of removing it is the trunk brackets are there to open/close the trunk (springs/arms)

that deck is useless
just keep thsi part:

the part right under the window. that has the support. the rest is useless.

Someone needs to post some S14's with crank windows or something! I bought my car stripped with a full interior. (stripped but sitting in the pass. side) Put the dash and door panels back on and hooked the windows back up. Id love to see some s14 setups w/ non power windows that still go down.
