I have a 4l60 in my s13. Bell housing is about the same size as a th400. You should be fine just use a hammer to massage the close areas. I'm putting a 4l80 in right now and that trans is a big bitch. I'm wishing that I had gone with the 400.

Yep just a sledge. No need to reinvent the wheel. Take your time as it might take a couple times before you have enough room.

Hi guys, I'm new here and from Australia. What kind of springs/shocks or coilovers do you run? I see a lot of people running the standard springs coils with the standard spring rate over here in aus but has anyone tried the D2 Drag Coilovers?

all of the S13 slave cylinders I have used have sucked but I have never had a Nismo version.

Now I have an ACT Xtreme 6 puck and I am worried that the slave cylinder isn't going to handle it. I have searched and haven't found an aftermarket heavy duty slave cylinder.

And a few of the engine dyno session last week. Had a few electrical issues so plan on making a good bit more power.

What rear end/axle setups are the high hp s13/14's using, just wondering, I have 561whp and 493 ft/lbs and im snapping axles pretty much everytime out to the track. Using dss axles bar kit now and I snapped the cup splined shaft that goes in the hub this time. Any ideas would be appreciated, I would like to keep the J30 rear end and stock style axles don't want to take on the q45 swap at this time since that would require wheels, brakes along w/ the diff and axles themselves. 2.9 lvl dss axles maybe?

You're going to need the highest level axle DSS has or the kit Mazworx offers to keep anything that size under your car. Not cheap though...

Yea that's what I was afraid off the lvl 5 axles are 1700 I think suppose to be 1k hp axles I spoke w/ them the other day and they thought the 2.9 axles would be sufficient but I don't want to make another investment that won't work at all.

I was thinking about turning the boost down for the hole shot, say put power level below 400 ft/lbs and running my 2nd stage on a toggle switch for the tru boost scramble setting.

For what it's worth, I believe you can do the Q45 swap and retain your factory 4 lug. (if that is what you are worried about, i remember seeing a thread a few years back about it.

Will have to look into that I will probably do the q45 as well in the mean time I'm gonna try to turn her down for the launch and see how that works out. Thanks for the feed back both of you

The only problem is regearing. The 3.54 ratio the Q45 diff has isn't exactly optimal for the strip. I guess you could adjust that with your tire choice, but I personally would want something in the 4.3 range on the SR/KA/VG/RB transmission to utilize all of 4th gear.

What is your engine/trans setup B92?

There was a thread on here about a guy using mazworx axles and he was still breaking axles. He switched over to the Q45/z32 setup and hasn't broken any axles since. Besides upgrading your rear end and not using the beefier 31 spline axles from the q45 and z32 kinda defeats the purpose of using the q45 diff. This is why I converted over to the q45/z32 setup. I also picked up some drag stars with mickey Thompson 26x10.5x15.

You would still have to buy new rims but you can do the Altima/z31 rear brake upgrade and have 5 lug brake setup.

Thanks slow92 I've been reading up on things between work today and talking to a few shops about options of what to do. "Everyone"!!! says q45 so after my tune date on the 22nd. I'll be pulling the j30 and dss axles out and bitting the bullet and doing the full q45 swap. Just may take some time to get her back going.

^^^Sounds like your best option, especially if you are breaking axles. I am surprised Santos hasn't chimed in here yet. I think he runs a R32 diff with J30 axles and was making close to 600whp and was using a 2 step or launch control on drag radials.

The Q45 seems to be the best option unless you have really deep pockets and step up to a Mazworx 9 inch rear end and then you will never ever have to worry about breaking another axle.

Just keep us updated because life happened and my care won't be up and running until next summer. I am curious how the 3.59 gears are going to react on my SR22.

BTW where in Georgia are you?
