lol big brakes for drifting?
not so much. if its a dedicated drift car, less is more. miguel (from wilwood) and i were discussing this on sunday at the slideasassins irwindale event. they switched m. essas car to a single unvented disc front and rear to achieve a better feel. that setup would suck on the street or at a track event, but in drifting, you require far less brake power, and far more overall balance. stock s13 brakes with uprated pads and stainless lines are more than sufficient for drifting. |

from what miguel was explaining to me, since its a drift only car, shedding unsprung weight is beneficial. the kit they're using was designed for something similar to a sprint car, which also is rarely on the brakes. weight savings, and having a complete kit that was designed to maintain good balance were the goals.

no sweat tyler. i'm no pro drifter but i know big brakes are not necessary for at least my level of drifting. decent pads/lines/fluid is enough
as for the 4door civic, yes thats a stock color

Yeah, I don't see why you all are talking about stopping on a dime with big brakes. The stock brakes can lock up tires fine.
Big brakes are for better heat dispersion. So unless he is getting brake fade which he has no reason to be, he's fine. Upgraded pads and lines are good enough a majority of the time.

I drift with a stock car.
YOu PAN need to stop bitching and just drive. oh oh you gotta build it this way, blah ablhabaljdlasjlskjfls That's why dudes be spending 2-3 years building a car and at the end have a nice car, but sucks complete ass at driving. Which makes you look more like a jackass. |
