You guys need to add a little toe out in the front if you want to get the grip towards the front. Stiffening up the shocks a click or two in the front can also help with that turn in oversteer you're looking for.

Hi guys, on Friday I got to drift at PIR in Portland oregon(there's another PIR). On C1 the first entry it starts out on blacktop and transitions to concrete, followed by C2 on concrete going back to blacktop finishing C3. It was raining and wet(Oregon), and it seemed so difficult to go from blacktop to concrete while in a drift. Anyone ever had to do this before? Was it just because it was wet it became so unpredictable? I don't think it would bother anyone much if it was dry.

different composition, I bet you spun everytime getting on the concrete. It's like going from drifting on wet roads to ice. lol.

I remember my first event(ever). Learning how to drive a 250whp FC with unmolested knuckles...i was just starting to get it down, and then we took a lunch. It started to sprinkle right after.....lets just say my first run in the rain after learning in the dry...i was doing 360's right at initiation. lol. Awesome!

not me, but this was the car lol.

That's what was odd, I got more grip on the concrete. lol, yes I did spin everytime, since it was a video shoot, I didn't get all the time I wanted. It was tough.

Basically what you have to do is prepare metally for the transition and adjust physically. I like that for practice as it works well. Some people shy away from drifting in the wet or a partially wet track but its something once you get it down you will be good. You have to adjust angle and throttle.

Here is a old video of me doing just that with my old fat ass r33 skyline.

Should I remove my front sway bar? I've read that some people like it and some do not? I'm torn.

At the autocross lot we have here there is a pretty large skidpad.

Drifting from cheese grater asphalt to the skid pad was a HUGE learning experience, I would just let off the gas a little during it, took a LOT of getting used to.

Thanks for the reply, most of us here have no issues drifting in the rain, as it's mostly always wet here. It was just going from super slick on pavement to super sticky concrete, I think I just needed to really stomp it once I hit the concrete. I didn't get too many runs in so I wan't really able to experiment on it.

Most skid pads are smooth concrete to help, well, skid. This was through the chicane and the concrete surface was super grippy even in the wet. It was just unexpected and really tough lol.

removing front sway bar helps the front tires grip the road....more turn in, less understeer. Usually good for cars with really low power, although you can compensate by just adding a grippier front tire.

That's how I feel too. Black top in the wet feels like socks on a hardwood floor to me haha.

In the dry I'd definitely put the hammer down transitioning to concrete, the wet makes super touchy though. I think you just need a couple more tries

I have a stiffer sway up front than stock.

Same goes for the rear.

it's going to understeer more, which means you are going to have to be a little more aggressive on the flick, but shouldn't be a problem when have good tires. I ran a sway bar on my KA, and it allowed me to 4 wheel drift a little more under transition. Almost like it would slide an extra 3-5 feet before it would catch grip in the front, and allow me to make correction. If you don't like it, it's easy to remove.

the ONLY pink FC that mattered was henry's. lol. But it always rocked darker colored wheels. That car is now in china.

Pretty much just want to get technical. I hear people say "your a better driver if you dont touch your ebrake. and viseversa. Im not saying Im the best but I do well with my style, however I see most pros do use it. I double clutch, down shift. and rarely use the ebrake. Been doin it on and off for 8 yrs but still want to improve so would like some feedback.

This is also a question I would like to be answered.

I am with everyone when saying just keep the bar on there. Even upgrading wouldn't hurt too much. No point taking it off.

Thanks for the replys. I'm going to leave it on there, I just heard that the tires will rub the sway bar with my knuckles.
