I personally find a relocation to be completely pointless in 9 out of 10 cars though. When you run more wire, you add more weight, and introduce more points where the wire could rub, be damaged, or otherwise fail. You also tend to need a higher guage wire to run it farther. Unless you are taking huge measures to count every single ounce on your car in every way you can, it is pretty much pointless, and using a lightweight battery in the stock location is a better option. No, you dolt. There's a difference between this idiot and getting in a racecar knowing you may not get out but knowing all of your safety equipment is proper and has been examined, and if you crash and die, it won't be because of carelessness. I'm a little ignorant on 240's here but did I see that right before? Was that tie down hooked to a piece of plastic, and the plastic was then attached to the trunk sheet metal? On my Nissan, the battery sits on a plastic tray but the tie down hooks to SHEET METAL, which has some capability to bend before it breaks, and greatly reduces the chances that the battery will go flying in a crash. It isn't that he failed to go out there with some super shock proof battery attachment that can survive a bomb strike, falling off a bridge, slamming into a wall at 200mph, etc. He want out with some haggard, ghetto rigged piece of shit "safety device" that was lesser than OEM quality because he's a swaggot that doesn't bother to properly research the shit he is doing, and that is the ultimate definition of DIW. |

Doing it cuz fender tubs, but yes it is an unnecessary mod most of the time. on the one i did before, i cut a black garden hose(usually on that is already messed up, so it isnt a waste of good hose), and then ran the + battery wire through the hose to help prevent it from rubbing on stuff. If the hose is black it looks less shitty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Fucking scene dork. I'm at a loss of words over how much of an idiot you are. Your entire existence should be in the DIW thread.

Go to any real race event and try to pass a car through tech. Shits there for a reason. Calling someone a pussy cause they expect shit running around them to be safe, is dumb as fuck. Nasa, scca, VARA, nhra, etc all have strict safety standards for a reason. Get your shitbox half ass build off the track if you can't follow basic safety standards and pass a real tech inspection. It's all fun and games til someone gets hurt or killed.

Anyway, back to quick release batteries and this Jake fellow and milking this incident despite it having stopped being funny days ago:
1. The track should designate that corner a 'Flying Battery Zone' and put up joke warning signs and stuff. 2. At the next Final Bout event, they should have a contest to see who can make their battery fly the furthest. Possibly hit targets. 3. Quick Release would be a cool team name. Is it taken?
