+30 offset is too high for any S-chassis. You need something slightly lower, atleast shoot for +20 for 9js.

FYI Toe settings chew up tires faster than Camber settings....in general.

What up everyone........i was thinking that in the near future (not exactly right now because my car is at the bodyshop right now getting new paint plus i still need to finish getting the rest of the stuff for the 5 lug conversion) i was thinking to get the xxr 522 on my 240sx coupe (s13) and i was thinking of getting 17x8 in the front and 18x9.5 in the back. im thinking that would be a good setup but not completely sure if it would fit or not and if so what size tires to get. any helpful input on how to make it work would be sweet.....thanks

Sounds like you need to learn offsets first since sizing doesnt mean jack shit if you don't have a clue on offset. Also, look what I typed up at the beginning of this page.

i would go at least a 9 inch up front +20 or lower, 9.5 out back can work similar offset.. 215/40 front 225/40 out back. obvi your gonna need to stretch/pull/camber possibly. but def do more research first.

First off, do you have adjustable rear toe, tension rods, and camber arms for you to be "slammed?" If not, don't bother "slamming" the car to the floor if you don't have those particular arms because your alignment will be fucked.

My personal opinion...17s look small on S14s. Go with 18s, they look better and fill in the wheel well better. Go 18x9.5+12 up front and 10.5 +15 in the rear. 225/40-18 up front, 235/40-18s in the rear and roll and slightly pull the fenders once slam it (dont forget to get an aligment before your pull). If you're gonna rock fake wheels, atleast do it right!!! Rule number of flush wheels: It will never be flush until you pull the fenders.

First off yeah I know, 16" weak sauce size but I like the price point I can get the tires at and I can't be balling since I got other things going on right now. I don't have the money for hella flush/tuck/stretch stance.

Stock 93 240sx Hatch
Gonna lower it with Tein S-Tech springs. (I'm a big guy so it lowers even more with me in it)

Thinking of buying Varrstoen VT T1 16x8 +15 offset. Will this size fit no problem or do I need to do some fender rolling/spacers etc?

Also, tire sizing. 205/50/16 a good size for that rim size?I'm looking for a bolt on and go so any help is appreciated and thanks for your time

^^^Should fit easily, might wanna bump it up to 205/55-16s or 225/50-16s since thats about OEM diameter.

I was gonna try to do 205/50/16 on the front and 225/50/16 on the rear but from gauging on rimtuck.com with people with 16" setups. They ran 205 all around.

Question. Why did you suggest 205/55/16 vs 205/50/16. Wouldn't the 55 make the tire look higher sidewall like a truck? Is the 55 better? Thanks for ur time

Personal preference, I like keeping my wheel diameter as close as possible to the OEM specifications. Some folks like to undersize their diameter for clearance or make the car ride lower.

How can you say scullion of s*** when he is always taking time to answer people's questions- and give them correct advice, always separating his opinion from hard facts when need be-and most of the time he's answering the same ones because people don't search. My hat is off to him, I don't have that kind of patience...

Eh, I get burnt out with shit from time to time. Honestly, some days, I wish people would bother reading thru this thread. Atleast go back a couple pages from the end. Most of the time, the same question was asked no more than 2 pages back. But then again, you gotta remember that this is the point of this thread.

If I know shit will just irritate me, I just dont bother clicking in here. Lastly, like I've said before, I dont mind people PMing me to ask me questions...

Hatch or coupe? I'd be very wary of getting the quarter panel bowing in when you pull the rear out.

Aye guys - question on federal tire sizing
I'm looking for a mild stretch on 18x9.5j and 18x10.5j, preferrably with federal tires. I've been entertaining 225/40 and 245/40 (maybe even a 235?) My question is more in regards to the differing sizes of federals. Evidently they run ~10mm larger than standard. Is this true for all sizes (I've read this is not applicable >245)? Basically, if I'm looking for a feddy equivalent of 225/40 and. 245/40, where should I be?

245/40-18s in the rear are gonna be huge. If you have the space, 245 or 255/35-18 would be equivalent to 225/40s up front diameter wise.

Thanks flip.
So they don't run~10mm larger and infact run~20m smaller?? I'd been led to believe a federal 215/40 would be the equivalent of a standard (any other brand) 225/40 since the federals actually run larger than their indicated size? Or were you saying a rear federal 245/35-18 (on a 10.5) wouldbe roughly the same size wise as a 225/40 up front (on a 9.5)?
