I dont understand how this would make the car stiffer? You need springs. The damper only controls the speed the spring compresses and rebounds.

Shh... no one needs logic. Honestly I think the reason he thinks it is stiffer is because its fully bottomed out simply by the weight of the chassis. It likely isn't getting enough rebound to come up off the hockey pucks.
