This setup looks legit. Might be interested depending on what the kit looks like.

Awesome build. Thinking about adding a supercharger to supplement my too large a turbo that spools at 5k. Either a g-ladder from a g60 Corrado or an eaton off a mini cooper.....

I'd be willing to pay around $1000 for a kit like this with everything included...

In any case, doesnt Thomas Knight sell his kit, minus supercharger, for around $1000? Or maybe he sells for $1800 and someone was selling for around $1000... In any case, Thomas Knight doesn't list the kit on the website, but does sell it to my understanding. However, many of the parts can be bought for much cheaper if you do it all yourself. |

I have been on vacation without much time to work on the car. The car is running relatively well. I am just starting to work on the tuning. At 4 psi which is what it runs with the bypass valve hooked up. It runs strong with good afr's. With the bypass valve unhooked it runs 10 psi but may be a little lean in places. I am going to work on tuning when I get back from vacation and will post some driving vids most likely next week.
Thanks for all the interest and kind words. |

Good, glad to hear more people confirming 10psi! For a while, people swore by 7-8psi, but I think their belts weren't tensioned properly.
Twin charging the motor would be no bueno. Requires remote mounting the s/c, which is silly for the dual cam if you're going with a m62. BEE*R twin charged an SR, got something like 400hp from it or something... But the time and money you put into it is beyond retarded for the power. Why not just build a standard forced induction with turbo and get more out of it? |

It definitly makes 10 psi. It seems to make about 8-9 psi as soon as you get on it then build to 10 as the rpm increases. Even at 2000 rpm when I would go 100% throttle it would instantly jump up to 9 psi! No lag at all. This car is going to be really fun to drive.

twin charge that bitch.... use the sc to spool the turbo quicker. building the motor internally might be a good idea though. that would make for one sick ka.imo

I'd also pay 1000$ for a 100% complete turn key kit. I'd buy it right now!
I need something for this summer, 4 summers in a row with a stock KA is to damn long! I need POWER!! lol

I forget all the math they say to do, but taking the compression and 10psi and adding those into the equation, it said it was good to go! I say do it, document it, dyno it and post vids! |

The tune is coming along pretty well.. However, I won a free paint job at a car show. So the car has been at the paint shop for the last 3 weeks. I will post pics when I get it back this weekend.

Dude, this is awesome. If you get a pretty decent power gain on a budget like that then Im definitely considering this as a viable option. Are you tuning this yourself?

Yes, Im tuning this myself with a chipped ecu, tunerpro, and my wideband. Although, the car has been at the paint shop for over three weeks now so I havent been able to work on it at all. The car is drive-able at the moment just wouldn't feel comfortable flogging on it quite yet but its getting there.
I will post pictures when I get it back this weekend. And no I don't have a pattern for the plate, sorry! |
