The 3000 series is dope. Rumored the performance is being gimped by bad launch drivers. AnandTech is testing with new drivers now. Which is crazy considering how high the performance is.

i forget which youtube tech said it... that zen 2 seems to perform like a 5ghz oc 9900k but, does it with lower lower clock speeds.

reuse my 1080ti and I am all good.


Probably pick up a used 580 and have a 3rd gaming machine pc.


Maybe a new white chassis too.

i just like having that headroom of better binned, higher boost and higher tdp. maybe get better performance out of PBO2 without going 12core 3900x.

Also I forgot the 3800x might run cooler due to its only 1 8core chiplet instead of 2x 4 cores connected to ccx for the 3700x.

That is the funny thing about RGB. We spend the money to get, but a lot of people leave it a static color vs the unicorn puke.


The 2080 is exactly where we knew it would be. Faster than a 1080ti/2080 but slower than the 2080ti.


If the 2080 had released with super performance I'd have one now. I am hanging on to this 1080ti until the 4080 comes out.

We don’t recommend you disable SMT, unless you know that doing so will improve the performance in the specific game you’ll be playing. We’re not sure why turning SMT off hurts 1% low performance in so many games.

Helps some games hurts other most are the same. 1% low gets worse.

no, i have a 1080. so, it would be a actual upgrade for me.
when big navi comes. i'll replace it to that and give my 5700xt to my son's rig (vega64).
as for the 1080 it goes to my daughter's pc. And the devil v64 goes to the living room htpc.

its a a win win for everyone.

Yo! So how bout I finally got around to setting up Afterburner so it shows my cpu/gpu usage and temps.


My 4690k is being beat down by my 1080ti. Playing Batman Arkham Knight I often get 100% usage on all cores even at 4.5ghz.

For the most part it seems to most of the time be within +/- 8 fps of the 1080ti, 2070 super, Vega 7 and 2080.


If this is the 5700 series this makes me wonder what the 5800 and 5900 series could be if they dropped. 15% more performance would put a 5800 near a 2080ti. 15% more from that would put a 5900 XT a good bit past the 2080ti.

i think thats under monitor options tab. i uninstalled my AB so im not to sure.
