As soon as I get a decent job, I'm gonna dump so much money into a 240sx that I'll probably regret it, but then I'll just look at it and be like, nah it was worth it.

I would, but I don't really have time to work while I have school since I'm doing engineering and I always have hours of school work. I usually only work during the summer, so it's tough to save up enough money. Last summer I made about $3000 though, but I don't even have a 240sx yet. I've been searching craigslist, but haven't really found anything I want yet for around $3000.

Save another $3000 and you'll have enough to save yourself a ton (a TON) of money by buying a solid, pre-swapped car. Then make it look neat as you like.

This. Save yourself some money and time buy buying a car that is swapped. Not sure if you have knowledge on motors but you can even buy a non-running SR20 for a good price, and over winter take it apart and fix the motor as well as add your touches to the car.

I just got out of college I know your pain. I gave up cars for 4 1/2 years but trust me once you get all your tuition payed off and that job it is all worth it.

Power is easy.

Buy a car with the cosmetics you like. Paint, wheels and body kits are expensive and a pita. You can swap a $1500 engine in a weekend.

Yeah, I was planning on just buying a clean stock 240sx and doing all of the upgrades myself, collecting parts over time, just because I want to make sure everything is done right, and is up to my standards lol. And I probably have OCD, at least when it comes to cars. It would also be a great learning experience too, since I don't really have much hands on experience with this stuff. I do know a LOT about 240s now though thanks to Zilvia and the rest of the internet.
