Haha, yes the more expensive ones (giken) really don't make much noise. I'd love to throw a shorter ring and pinion in my old welded diff though just in case I want super short gears one day haha.

What fluid are you using? My nismo 2-way makes a bit of noise, but I spoke to another person and he said his didn't. Curious if it's more about fluid selection or if his diff is well worn

I use Motul Gear Competition 75w140. This diff came out of the old orange/blue Sikky 240sx after it was done competing in FD and got parted out. I've been running it on the street and one drift event and it still locks/unlocks like new.

I just did an oil change on my nismo 2 way. It really needed it. It had gotten really loud, to the point where I was embarrassed of making tight turns on public spaces.... I had forgotten how much quieter it gets with new fluid, much much better now.
Clutch diffs are very high maintenance, and require fluid changes much more often.
Motul 75w140 aint cheap either...

All this talk about quiet differentials, I have had a KAAZ Super-Q 2way, literally ZERO noise, sounds totally stock back there, locks super hard, and there is no break-in procedure. Best diff I have ever owned. Way cheaper than OSG or ATS.
