I've been saying it's only a matter of time, but most of my friends and family kept saying, "don't worries, it will never happen".. I've been having many sobering "I told you so" conversations today.. I did my part to try and stop it, oh well.. Whats done is done and life goes on..

how many of you have actually been to casinos on the regular? the crime is already in the city is already here. they arent going to produce massive increases. gambling is not all that bad, its already here, you just dont see it because its illegal and the majority of law abiding citizens dont know where to look for it. its big business even off the books around here. bringing in casinos just means we dont have to travel to Indiana or MI for a couple games at the tables. I used to go weekly for a few years, made a decent secondary living off it. hopefully it will start to bring some fresh revenue into the state and provide some sort of economic boost to the midwest. i really wish dayton would see one of these resort casinos hit down town. our city could really use a boost as its dying faster and faster every day.

I'll give you that, Utilities are dirt cheap in Indiana by the Hollywood Casino. I almost bought a house 3 blocks from the Argosy. Great house but neighborhood was 30 to 40% drugged out gambling addicts. That's why my old supervisor wanted to sell it. Gambling and drinking addictions. That's my main concern. Hopefully the good outweighs the bad.

Honestly, a Casino here in Cincy is the least of our potential problems to come out of this election.. My only concern was the location of said Debauchery Center. As far as the supposed local economic stimulation goes, that will remain to be seen..

Very nice. I wonder how many people we actually have apart of this group.
Maybe I should start keeping count or something in case we get something together over the winter or if anyone needs any help with anything. |

Yeah I tried as well. Unsuccessfully. Problem is the only way to spread the word is word of mouth. Everyone is spread across different forums across Ohio. We need a central location to communicate with everyone at once.

I'll try to set up a board sometime over the next week then. I've got exams to study for so it'll probably be this weekend.
Any ideas for the site name? |
