This weekend was my first trip to Chuckwalla! It was a very interesting experience going to a track I have absolutely no knowledge of, don’t think I’ve ever done that before with all my Dad’s years of SCCA racing! I kinda wasted most of the day running with too much tire pressure, but it was a valuable lesson, finally developing an actual understanding of tire pressure.
Chuckwalla CW: 2:10.102 S13, 130ish hp stock internal KA, 255/40/17 rs-rr, 2800ish lbs w/driver, body kit w/non-adjustable wing (no aero) I would like to thank the red Miata driver for getting out of my way so efficiently in the video! LOL! https://youtu.be/dPsoTVge2ig Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice work. Decent amount of tire rubbage on left handers with compression there. Looks like a bumpy track, or your dampers and springs are too stiff, or you're too low, or a combination of all 3 Track looks like proper fun though. Keep at it! |

Very impressed with how smooth you make the car work! Chuckwalla looks like a fast flowy track, and tricky without many visual markers! Well done.

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of Chuckwalla... Most of the corners are about the same speed and a lot of them tighten up at the end, lots of double apexes. It kind of gives the track no flow for me, a bit monotonous... I need to be much more aggressive and use the curbs a lot more honestly. I was driving a bit cautiously because the car was under steering so bad for the first 3 sessions when the tires were over inflated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

FINALLY beat my SOWS CW PB time from ‘08!!! I tried my best for that CW 1:29 to go with my CCW 1:29, but I just couldn’t get there. 18 1:30 laps over the course of the day, but no 29’s... The best I could do was a 1:30.310, same car specs as my last few updates. Unfortunately, no video of the fast lap, but I’ve got another one I’ll post once I get it ready!

I did not really like it the first time but this second time I actually enjoyed it a lot more. Its defiantly a track that would be more entertaining with a higher hp car. It should great to see your time so I know what is possible haha.

By the way if a bunch of you guys want to come up to drive any of the norcal tracks, I can probably arrange a discount with the club I run with. The club will also be running a weekend in October at Buttonwillow.

Keep this thread alive!
Summit Point Main: 1:22.907 Similar specs as my previous, but with Maxxis VR1 tires and car is probably a bit heavier because we keep putting endurance racing related shit in it. |
