Sorry for waking up an old thread, but it's the most info I have found on drag wheel setup

I would like to run a 15x10.5w tire on a 15x10-6.5BS wheel.
This is for an S14 , and my plan was to run 50mm wider overfenders to be able to pull this off.
Any information on if 6.5BS for a 15x10 would fit or not , and if anyone has experience with how much wider the rear needs to be then that would be great as well

Happy Silvia'n new year

that wide of a wheel is over the recommended size for a 10.5 tire.. you need no wider than a 9.5

Im running 15x9.33 6.5 backspace on my S14..

What height tire? I'm running a 27x10.5x15 on a 10 inch wheel with 6.5 backspace on a s13 with 50mm over fender. I'm going to try the 27x11.5 next set of tires. Its going to be close

Why do you need so much tire? A 10.5 should be all you need. You're just adding unnecessary weight by switching to an 11.5.

Car makes just under 800 wheel and it already has weight in the rear bumper so it works better on the street.

This car makes over 1100whp and has been 7.90 on a 28/10.50... You don't "need" more tire, you need a taller one. I think you'll have rubbing issues with a wider tire. Why not go to a 28" tire?

That car has the 275 pro tire on it. The track is a totally different animal.

While I'll agree that the street and the track are two completely different animals, I don't think a wider tire is going to help all that much.

What are you running for suspension?

No its not but if it fits I have no reason not to try it. Its just on kyb stuts and megan springs. Front set full lose and rear full tight. It works pretty well. Hoping for low 1.3x 60s this year if I make it to the track

Why do you have the rear full stiff? You want the rear to squat in these cars. If anything you should have the front stiff/er than the rear.

The car I posted above is running factory shocks/springs in the rear.

Because once the car squats I dont want to to come back up right away. It will squat and unload the tire any looser than I have it. and the 27" tire I'm running is a bias ply. They grow up to 1.5 inches at 150mph. I'm afraid of rub going to a 28 if its not a radial.

You need to adjust rebound then. The shock setup at full stiff will make it harder for the car to squat. You want to slow down the rebound of the shock so you keep the weight transfer to the rear as long as possible. This will give you better traction than a full stiff car that can't transfer the weight to the rear.

I'm not saying your setup doesn't work, I'm just saying it could be better. Check out import drag solutions cars and watch a few of their videos. These shocks are typically very low lbs/in springs and have a slow rebound to aid in getting the most traction/best 60ft possible.

What axles are used with this kit? Factory? Q45/Z32? DSS upgraded axles? So more information on your website would be nice.
