Today I ran out of butt connectors about 30 wires away from the first test fit of the tucked engine bay harness. The fuse/relay block will go beneath the glove box, or at least that's what I have planned so far. I'm betting there are a few more connectors I'm not using.

That steering setup!!!! Here are some pics of my setup. I was able to remove a bunch of silly shit from the vq (crossover pipe, oil warmer, coolant routing, etc.)

Made some progress today!
Had the cut the wells out, even when I raised the front 15mm, it still rubbed at lock. Did some good ol' fashioned driveway work. Please ignore the rear control arms, I got them from a friend and they will be replaced soon. Tomorrow is bushing install and back in the car. New front ride height.

I'd like to get into competition eventually, and I'm seriously debating on whether to keep the VQ or swap to something easier to work on. I have some ideas on that as well We'll see how this first season of fun goes.

I got the "engine bay" wiring harness ready for it's first test fit tomorrow. I still need to extend the headlight harness and find some S13 headlight plugs.
Should have the rear subframe back in and rear ride height finalized tomorrow, hopefully taking out all the camber doesn't raise it up too much.

Well, I got the subframe back in.
Unfortunately, these rear coilovers don't go anywhere near as low as I want them. This is zero camber, and drooping the spring and inch and a half. Like for real? These would work perfect on an S14 haha. So now I'm going to get another set of coilovers. Not really sure what, I might get PSM comps simply because they're probably the best set for $1000, I really need this car done.

Nopeeee. These are DGR dampers. I'm pretty sure they're no longer in business... I wonder why...

Run bigger tires to close the gap?
I'd like to try Feals.

I'm drooping the spring 1.5" to get to where it is, I'd really rather have a shorter damper and not have to do that, it can't be good for the inside of the shock.
I would love to try FEAL coils as well, Odi is a super cool dude to talk to on the phone, and will make them specifically for your setup. I may just save a bit more money and go with those. I'd have to make sure they're short enough though, those are the only ones I'm not sure about going low. There are really only three options for me. Parts Shop MAX Competition (mainly because of $$$) Fortune Auto FEAL I'm also kind of debating on spring rates if I go Fortune or FEAL, I have 8/6 on these just because that's what they're valved for, but with corrected front roll center and no sway bar in the front some other combo might be more beneficial? It's hard to say.

I feel like that's one of the biggest advantages for Feal - I trust the person giving the advice and making recommendations. Obviously Odi is a rad driver but he seems to have the chassis setup thing figured out as well.

Haha thanks guys, a few more weeks and I should be able to have everything around to make it run and drive! Sadly I won't be making 200 Drifters of December, which was one of my main goals .
Hmmm, well I'm waiting for a certain someone to fabricate and thoroughly test a kit of his own design, then fab one for me so that I may purchase it . I thought this was cool. Typical low car on the left, my car on the right (before I raised it 15mm).

Yeah man, painfully close.
Got my 17x8.25 pair of wheels in today. Now just spacers and tires and I'll have the wheel and tire setup exactly where I've always wanted it.

Haha thanks man, but you don't have to be a drifter to use these parts! You can set them to high caster and very positive ackerman if you'd like. They even make a different steering arm to slow down the steering if you want that .

^^LOL thanks, but that's going a bit too deep...
Minus the coils & adjustable arms, I like nice, semi-stock knuckles/LCAs with upgraded bushings... even thinking about ditching the coils for some nice struts w/front camber plates. Since I'm not a guy who knows more than shit & squat about suspension geometry etc; I like to keep it as simple as possible Haven't viewed this entire thread- but what I've seen is SIIICK! Definitely will be watching it more often.

I needed some motivation, so I test fit the 17's with 15mm spacers (17x8.25+10 effective) and took a couple pictures. Blows my mind every time.
