Yup, I missed out on too i guess. I wanted to buy the GS seats for long time..didn't see this thread until yesterday!
But I guess I won't mind paying $100 extra cuz I missed out on the GB.

No, they dont.
If we sell enough seats, maybe we can make enough money to make some of the seats have a safety cert.

Yea please do. FIA, SFI, even a DOT cert would be fine by me. It would definately make me feel safer, and I think I would get asked for a cert if I ran them. As a side note I would have no problem paying more if there were ones that were certed. |

Keep in mind that all that certification costs a lot of money and your seat in the end will cost more.

It's not like they're going to change the seats lol. You pay all that money just to get the seats tested as they are - unless you're competing in real motorsports that require cert'd seats and harnesses (in which case you should be happy to spend the money there), enjoy your bargain seats from JXN!

Its not a matter of real motorsports or not. Your FACTORY SEATS are ATLEAST DOT approved. |

I have heard of a lot of cheapy seats just failing out right in on road accidents, so there is a likely hood that the seat will have to be changed to meet a safety regulation. That alone should be reason that most people would want at least a DOT cert. And yes I will be road racing this year and already have a cage in the car so a certed seat is basically needed. Then again maybe I value my well-being more than others?! Also, to the person who pointed out that my certified seat would cost more... Look right above your post, I clearly stated I would pay more for a certed seat. It would just be nice to see if someone could actually get a DOT or FIA cert on these. To my knowledge the only Bride seat actually certified is the Zeta III (true Bride). |

While I agree that FIA cert'd seats do come with added piece of mind (my Momo is FIA cert'd, albeit expired), I guess my point is that there are tons of cheap FIA/similar cert'd buckets out there (OMP, Momo, Sparco bottom-end seats come to mind), and that's not where JXN has placed this product - he's cheaper, and "looks better", which appeals to this general market.
I'd hate to see the prices on all the seats go up 50% just to get cert'd - then they'd just be knockoffs competing with lower end "name brand" seats. That's all - please clarify JXN if I've misspoken/put words in your mouth
