Streets of Long Beach T_T
I just watched the videos... All this mistake stuff is crazy.. If you look Daigo has WAY more angle passing through that 2nd turn than Powers or Dai. The "mistalke" isn't a mistake at all, its his style and what you have to do when you have that much angle. If you do a backwards entry, you "correct" out of it at the right moment. You don't get points docked for that, you get points added for pulling it off, since that is the hardest part of a backwards entry. Dai seriously gets like fucking dunked on those first two turns, then he closes in on the final turn to make it look like he closed the gap.... of course he closed the gap. Drift shallow and follow the same line you too can recreate this amaing tandem magic lol. |

Vaughn Gittin Jr. vs. Saito Daigo Formula D Atlanta 2012 Top 16 - YouTube
want to know what you guys thought of this video... personally ive never been a fan of JR but still thought he would be better than this. it states in the rules that the lead driver follows the predetermined line and clipping points. the chase driver is to follow the line of the lead driver. Judges allowed passing at only turn 3 in road atlanta, first turn of the key hole. Why on earth JR thought it would be ok to pass daigo where he did is beyond me.. scared of losing? to aggressive? thoughts... |

He said because saito was WAY off the line,.. and they're on the drivers hard to be all up in the other drivers buisness.
shit happens tho, there was alot of bad calls IMO. I think walker took dai out, why they called 1 more time was beyond me. where are those replays!....lol

your right walker shouldve knocked dai out. it was almost like the judges were making up for a previous shitty call. i was there.. trust me the crowd was really pissed at some of the calls.

Check his run against Aasbo. Daigo is fullthrottle 90% of the course and lights up every clip. Aasbo drops angle to catch up every single turn yet gets the win bull fucking shit.

couple new rules this year.
1.) you can sacrifice a little line and angle to close that gap between you and the driver you're following 2.) passing is allowed in particular areas, otherwise they dnt want your front wheels to pass the leaders front wheels now keeping this in mind,.. im still a little stumped why i hear jarod and the judges critiquing drivers on giving up a little angle to get on the door of the other drivers

Saito did that shit on purpose.
Funny no one see's it. He played JR like a fiddle. He has the HP and grip to shallow out a little and stay on line, instead he went steep angle with the front wheels pointing out the the side of the track and just let his car get wider and wider. JR was already determind to run the line to stay tight, he WAS NOT following the leaders line. Next thing he knows hes way to inside and almost passing Saito. Then Saito just closed the gap on him. JR's fault for getting comfortable with just running the line and not hte driver, he got played and lost. |

ya Saito plays a lot of games, its so funny b/c people think he doesnt live up to the hype.
They fail to realize he only drives the car during FD weekends, he tested it like 1-2 times before it shipped from japan. he is still settling in. not to mention driving 3 cars in 3 diff competitions lol. Most of the time he looks like he is staring into the sky while he is driving. He just likes to push his boundaries to see what trick ppl with. Atlanta he would just transition and wait until you would get close and then smoke you out.

i see what eric is saying completely. i know if i were diago i would look at JR like a stupid american that needs put in his place. it was weird to see the line that he took and definately looks like he did it on purpose to fuck with JR. i dont know. guess its cool to see someone shake it up a bit. i would much rather see diago win over the same ole guys. id like to see some other rookies on the podium. im always rooting for the underdog.

I like daigo, but lets be real....this is a judged sport based on criteria. Line being the major factor. You go off line, you can't expect the person behind you to follow you off course. I've watche daigo aasbo video about 20 times already. As aasbo is a good buddy of mine, and we like critiqueing his everything...he was damn near flawless on his lead run. |

You're forgetting that Aasbo is a Need For Speed driver. . . all the major teams get preference in a close battle. Too much politics in Formula D, Falken and NFS get preference over the other teams who sponsors don't pour tons into advertising for the events.
